If they make it too easy there wouldn’t be a sense of achievement or reason to play it. Shadow Lords has been out barely 2 weeks. Would you be ok with every game ever released being beatable on the hardest modes the day of release?
Its not that i have an issue with time spent. I have an issue when its just utterly cheap/cheesy and not fun.
I will use Demon Souls & Dark SOuls as an example. TO make one of the bosses a real challenge, both games summon real people. 1 of the demon souls bosses in act 3 i think it is, and in dark souls its the mirror knight. Much harder than fighting an AI.
I actually like shadow lords (wish there were more items, and some other changes but havent had chnace to document thoughts yet). BUT cant stand the boss fight.
But games like Dark Souls…even if you die, you feel like you’re making progress and want to fight the boss again. here, i have no interest in facing the boss cause its JUST annoyijng. there’s no enjoyment out of it (for me at least). If i knew good players that lived near me, i’d have them come over and do it for me cause i dont actually care about the fight. if i was good enough to challenge, lets say Rico, that would be great for me. to beet someone that good. I will never do that. But issue with AI is you can make them so artificially difficult that it’s impossible, so i dont consider than an actual accomplishment. Sooner or later, you will beat it. Its not the same way as actually being good and beating a pro level player.
If boss fight was fun, then it wouldn’t be an issue. I found the final boss in SF4 fun. it wasn’t that hard for casual/above average players, but not easy. I could beat him easily with my normal characters, but everyone else it was a challenge.
This is beyond that…
Yeah, I understand what you’re saying. I’m not developing the game so I cannot say for certain, but I’m sure changes and improvements are in the works. While it isn’t fair to lock the stage behind a harder item reliant difficulty, they have openly stated many times their goal was to make a borderline cheap boss. Which isn’t appealing to everyone. They should just have the stage unlock after you’ve beaten Gargos. I mean it’s just a stage. I hope you get what you’re looking for though.
I just hope we get season 4. And I’d love items like in d&d or Diablo. Imagine thunder with magical axes or wulf having energy pulsating on his claws. Something like that would love to see. Expand the treasure, items and randomize properties. Then u can make bosses as hard as you like.
And maybe even properties on accessories so it gives a point to change how your character looks.
yep. The next patch shall take a while. Till’ then i’ll just wait to see if mortals like me could had a chance to defeat a godlike boss.
That’s why I’ve basically stopped playing, hoping that it’ll get better with updates. As it is, I’m not enjoying it.
I got BODIED 3 times last night Omens sadly easy on “challenge” think they might want to change that. Gargos though is crazy debuff him lol he’s still good. Changing my strategy he’s cheap I must be to.
Please ig I dont want difficulty in my fighting games. Just git gud
Pssst… Now I don’t know if this is happening just to me in this playthrough, but Aria gets full health every fight regardless of how little life you ended up with in the last match. You never need to refill her health, and with any Snake Guardian, you can beat the Normal AI with a little zoning and 3-4 easy openings. I have yet to try this on Gargos though.
Also a tip for Hisako, if you practice the timing of heavy Influence on wake-up and end the resulting combo with a hard knockdown ender, the loop is pretty effective.
And with Kim as the third member of my team, I rarely have to worry about healing or doing damage. The AI rarely shadow counters so you can go for long “frametraps” with her buttons up close. With her new health gain, activating a Vampire Bat or Snake with Level 3 Firecracker ender, then using the pressure to land a combo into Dragon Kick ender.
That’s all I have for now. Lemme know if any of this works for you.
Well I beat it 2 nights ago. I like KI too much to be able to hold off
(I already dont play that much so gave it another go).
This time, got to gargos, no wolf hearts so i used 2 x unblockable (but without shadow moves benefit - on jago and wulf) and on riptor invulnerability.
Wolf first, got rid of a life bar. Then riptor did nothing. jago i beat him and got the stage.
I will say, while i dont find the boss fight fun, i understand now its not as bad as i thought. I realize an error i made and maybe others are too:
I was going ALL offense. Charging in, etc as some videos show. But, i dont recognize animations as well, etc so i fail many break attempts. Also, i don’t get alot of the juggle combos, etc so while offense is fine, mine isn’t good enough to play like that against an ‘enhanced boss’ like this.
This time, i stayed back. Blocked everything and waited for him to do his torpedo or dive attacks and when i blocked them, then did short combos ending in knockdowns.
My last few hits after his resurrection were just basic heavy kick trips (and then run away and block).
Will try again and see if it really works or i just got lucky playing in this manner.
Also, i think my other biggest issue (ie. why some of my combos didn’t work, etc)… i assumed it was cheese from Gargos itself. it appears, i was being hit by the minions. i tried to ignore them…but again, not good enough to do that. So in my defense playstyle, i ended up attacking them after i knocked gargos down.
NOTE: i had removed 4 of the boss enchantments via 4 omen kills before this, so the boss may be easier than some people are facing him with…
Sadly, i have a bigger issue now. (will post for help in the main forum or technical forum)

Sanjay
