I never knew TJ had a sister. I didn’t see that IG/MS said anything about adding a sibling of a cast member. Do you still have a link to that thread?

I know it was in an older thread before the new changes, and for the life of me I can’t find it. But Ig may have said it as a rumor, idk but IG put it out there either in a thread or during a livestream.

Back in the season 2 forums, Adam Isgreen (from MS) said that among the character ideas being tossed around was a sibling to an existing character. It’s not a confirmation of any kind though, just a possible idea.

I don’t have the link, but as you said those ideas were tossed around. But if that idea was confirmed the only sibling that makes sense is Eagle.

Yea the season 2 forums archive isn’t up yet so it’s not really possible to check. The only problem with that theory is I thiiiink he said it was related to a season 2 character. I can’t confirm this due to the aforementioned lack of archive at the moment, but I’m almost certain that was stated as well.

As for the backstory, definitely not what I was expecting. Spent a while trying to figure out if there was a message behind his model number, gave up on that. Kudos though, good read.

I think if it is not a sibling related ‘by blood’ to a Season 2 character it could e a comrade Im thinking a fellow comrade of Maya or Hisako. Aganos is the last of his kind. or another messenger for Gargos (another like Omen) or Kan-ra’s former king.

woah thats a good idea, the King has been popping up a lot in these stories, what if he was Kan-Ra’s older brother and Kan-Ra always had a sibling rivalry with him and grew jealous of his power as king?

The larger issue with laser and its balance is that for the most part the blasted thing is unpunishable. It comes out and recovers too fast for you to react to it, even with the fastest shadow moves in the game. So you basically have to always predict it, and then (if Fulgore has pips) he can simply DP you in the face in reaction to the freeze even though you read him properly. If you didn’t read him properly, then he’s just going to block your shadow and punish you with whatever. There’s not really any reason for Fulgore NOT to throw out medium lasers all the time already except for reactor speed, and the original heavy laser was very similar in S1, just because it tended to hit grounded opponents as well if they didn’t have a low profiling opener.

That’s why I think whatever they decide to do to it, it’s gonna have to be something slight, and will probably be something that requires pip cancels. Anything else, even with the energy drain to reactor, would just be too potent for a character that already has a slew of options. A half screen, unreactable, unpunishable combo starter that also has a goodly amount of pushback is already a fearsome move (there’s a reason @Infilament always says it’s the best move in the game) - there’s only so much further you can push that bar before it becomes an issue.

Indeed but for some characters like Sadira who can easily jump over it, it isn’t the best option.

If she jumps over it you just cancel into DP, it’s pretty foolproof.

It contains some characters better than others, but it definitely contains all characters at least a little bit. It’s as fast as a jab sonic boom, and Fulgore has a non-charge 3f DP to anti-air.

is that a hard read or can you actually react to that…I’ve never been able to do that via reaction, but I am guessing it’s just my reaction speed is too low.

If you can anti-air a normal jump with DP, you can anti-air a jump while doing a medium laser. You kind of have to be a bit more aware of the situation (because the medium laser might hit and you could start a combo too), but it’s not so much more difficult that it’s unreliable in a match.

Guess it’s a matter of practicing the situation. I am guessing that throwing out pip canceled DP can help in many situations.

Lol. Quite so. Something most Fulgore’s don’t seem to do even now for instance, is to respond to any shadow counter (on a special) with reaction pip-cancelled DP.

It has a LOT of uses, and is a much better use of your resources than teleport->teleport->teleport->throw.

Yep. He’s been able to do it since S1.

Every time I see a Fulgore just take a shadow counter on a light laser or blade dash, I just shake my head…

Interestingly, Aganos can shadow counter those things and be safe from pip-canceled DP, because Aganos’s post-freeze SC is invincible! lol
