I’ve gotta work. The problem with doing security is when the plant shuts down we have to work extra so I’ve got 3 days of roaming ahead of me. That’s about 7 miles worth of walking a day, walking around and through the plant and feed mill here.
And I know it’s almost another amputee joke mentioning that (-What are you doing over your break? -I’m walking…a lot…) but it’s actually true.
Im working on the actual weekend but will be off for Labor Day. Was going to try to go to Las Vegas but since Harvey came rolling through my neck of the woods most likely I’m going to stay home to catch up on homework and maybe barbecue some burgers.
This is gonna sound real dumb and maybe a bit overly-sensitive (I’m not being attitudinal or douches though, I promise), but try to enjoy all that walking? If nothing else, it’s good for you. Your body will thank you(r employer) for it.

Yeah I’ve been to a doctor and I’m now seeing a physical therapist. Ironically she is colombian, lol. It will either be alright or it won’t. But it’s been three months since I played guitar and it sucks

Because I originally went to the doctor in Guadalajara, Mexico and everyone assumes I got sub quality care there - even though I didn’t. Now I’m seeing reliable professionals in the USA and they are Colombian.
If you aren’t following the conversation please don’t make negative assumptions and jump in. Everyone’s so sensitive about everything these days. Believe me, Margarita the physical therapist is not slightly sensitive about it. She spent the whole appointment telling me she hates the D.C. Area and would rather move back to Florida and that her Colombian relatives won’t believe her that she had to renounce her Colombian citizenship because of her husbands security clearance.
I have company this weekend but I might be around a bit. I will keep my eyes open

Hope everyone had a lovely week(end)! I lost my phone around my own firepit… It got rained on twice and sun-dried and survived! My week was full of docs and sleep. This pill they got me on to help w the phantoms makes me really really REALLY sleepy. Next step is a lidocaine regimen and electrical stimulation treatment while we try to find someone experienced in mirror therapy, might have to travel a bit, maybe out of state. Stitches come out Monday, and the appointment will double as my first meeting w the prosthetist, who will give me an earful about this damned hip contracture, but it’s reversible, just gotta see a specialist chiropractor and masseuse… Ugh. So many doctors, so little time…
Whats a hip contracture? Your muscle is ceased up?
Yeah, spend too much time on my butt between home and wheeling around, my hip muscles got used to the position so my stump wants to sorta lift itself outward while i stand, cuz there’s no normal-leg weight and duties and to counteract it. I think it could be worse, doesn’t seem so bad. The trouble is that it makes it very difficult, if nigh-impossible to operate a prosthesis w the contracture because once I’m not thinking about it, the thigh wants to move onto this unnatural position that compromises balance w the prosthesis.
Side note, when I lift my stumpy-leg, you can see and feel the bone move a bit, cuz it isn’t bound to the rest of the musculoskeletal structures around it. I assume that will eventually cease, but for now it’s a disgusting party trick.
