Eh, I wouldn’t be opposed to Eyedol returning. If they can make some of the more quirkier characters (like Aganos and Hisako) work, then I don’t see what the hold up is with him.
Besides, every character as their fans, and the Eyedol fans should get him as well. And he’d be a good incentive for a Community pot, I dunno.
Although maybe they might be holding him off for a true sequel…? Guess it all depends on where the story is going, since it’s obvious they’re trying to actually build up on some of the lore now, if S2’s Rivals is any indication.
"…then I learned that MS/Isgreen are mainly responsible for the lore of KI and that the way a character will play is visualized through a team effort that usually comes down to @TheKeits - an employee of IG whom is the lead combat designer. But it’s all irrelevant, really, because not only was @TempusChaoti speaking mainly about the visual design of the character, but he also took care to specify that he was speaking hypothetically. So for all I know, they could very well have had an outline for how this character works for quite sometime now and @TempusChaoti could have only been discussing the nuances of designing him.
So I won’t form a premature judgement before I know the facts nor will I obfuscate my opinion on their commitment to do their jobs."

… NAH, JUST KIDDING! Here’s what he actually said:
Do not be so quick to dismiss conspicuously made decisions as “incompetency”. If one character is solicited for a community fund drive but the idea of another for a more established figure is waved away, maybe this should tell you something about their future plans for that character.
The interview implies Eyedol is not in the game. That is not incompetency, but a conscious choice.
Based on that, I theorize why they left him behind. If he ends in the game, everybody wins and case dismissed.
I have faith that he will come back, if not for this season, then at least for a potential future season or community fund. There are tons of great ideas they could use for Eyedol, but I guess they are still hung up on keeping the spirit of the original intact without going too far off base.
“Implies”? Why wouldn’t they just definitely de-confirm something that big? As I suspect, the circumstances are too conspicuous to be something we should just assume they have no further plans on.
They know a lot of people have expressed their want for Eyedol. So this could be one of two ruses.
He’s already in the Season 3 roster, but they want the surprise.
I believe this first one to be the case, as Adam never mentioned him as a contender for a community fund.
He’s planned for Season 4, if it does happen.
There are some cool story reasons he could appear in a separate Season. For instance, he could be Gargos’s rival, and the reason or catalyst for his destruction.
Again, I think the first is more likely. It’s an easy slip to have not mention him as a candidate for the community fund, because of his known existence.
Mentioning him as a contender for the fund would confirm he is not in Season 3. Since they’re trying to be as secretive as possible with the roster it makes sense that they wouldn’t say something like that which would conclusively rule out a character.
Plus there are the obstacles preventing his inclusion in the past. If they don’t think they can get past those it also makes sense that they wouldn’t mention him as a possibility for the community fund. Why mention something as a possibility if you know you can’t deliver on it?
Well not only that but she’s literally not the final boss for more than like one character, she’s not a boss at all. Their descriptions of her and how crazy she was in-game were greatly exaggerated.
They really need to be creative(which they have been). Eyedol could potentially be KI’s bad ■■■ boss to join the greats like Shao or Bison or Hei and Jinpachi.
Nice troll attempt @TotalJimkata , but this one stung a bit.
No cool points for you today.
