Arbiter In Killer Instinct tease

■■■■, I only horde grunts. lol

Not saying KI needs guests.

People have been begging for a battletoad since season one, therefor a “fan favorite” choice for a guest regardless of if some streamers disliked him, clearly enough people do. He recently had a cameo in Shovel knight as well as being a headliner in the Rare replay and I’m pretty sure Battletoads is coming back in some form. So if Rash was just revealed I’d be just as hyped as I am now, he’s a perfect fit and more relevant that a lot of choices like Kameo.

oh my gosh i agree so much!! I think Arbiter is a HUGE LET DOWN and WASTE of a character for KI. I don’t think it fits the game. Keep Halo in Halo, and get it the eff out of KI. Spawn would have been sick! I’m really disappointed with the CROSSOVER characters. Rash is so lame. He kinda fits, and i get it that it’s a RARE COMPANY thing, but c’mon. Halo???!?!?!?! Really guys? BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Give us Tusk and not lame crossover characters! At least MKX is getting it a lot more correct than KI. Alien, Predator, etc. GREAT DISSAPOINT!!

I am ECSTATIC over The Arbiter’s appearance. Halo is my favorite game franchise of all time i think. The reason I got into KI was that MCC was such a colossal failure I thought I’d give another game a go.

But don’t you think the choice is entirely obvious? As I see it, and share your angle too, a major purpose of the guest is to add interest for players who AREN’T already players of the game. Like MKX wants Predator, Alien, Jason, Freddy, Leatherface in part (as I see it) to appeal to casuals. MK has a ton of name recognition. Its legendary, when people see these guests in there they like it. The hardocre base despises it, and takes it pretty rough. (I picked up MKX too cuz I liked KI so much).

There is a vanguard of old school, true school fans of old KI that have this so mixed up in my oopinion. They resent Halo or GoW additions and instead want someone like Joanna Dark. A character I can’t even recognize (I did buy PD on 360). That game isn’t going to get the active gamers on Xbox Live hyped to come play. Someone like Skorge or Arbiter will. Those games sell millions and are Xbox exclusives. PD sold millions and is an Xbox exclusive too, but that was ages ago. One has to confront that. Spawn, Joanna, these Darkstalkers guest chars that I see recommended, they just aren’t relevant anymore.

Now we just need a cross over for Halo, give us some Mark V Fulgore armor for our Spartans.

Who had been begging? Im pumped hes there but saw zero demand for him - no polls, no wishlist appearances, no forum threads. I simply cant have imagined any begging for a BT in S1. certainly at a time of no Cinder, TJ Combo or Riptor.

The only reason were talking guests is because S3 made it so… before any announcement we all expected the four remaining legacy characters, four new ones and maybe another Omen-type freebie like season pass 2 was. Hoping for a 3rd now - 3 old, 3 new, 3 guests.

So

  1. joanna dark
  2. warden eternal
  3. arbiter

This is what my list would have been. I LOVE arbiter as much as all the above and in some cases more but id say warden and specially Joanna would have fitted into the story better.

Im stoked that the news has set KI on fire. With over 500RTs! Its great for the game. Im huge fan of both games.

So prophet of bane and he has a carbine rifle on his back too  close and range attacks…

“If you came to hear me beg, you will be disappointed.” - Intro.

“And so…you have been silenced.” - Outro.

And it HAS to be Keith David.

It will be, and I quote, “Season 3 is now available for PreOrder.”

I don’t play Halo, but I’m excited for a few simple facts.

I get to play as a Alien-DinoShark-Man who wields a Plasma Battle Axe and is heavily armored. Physically it’s impossible to not be excited.

however…how could you Not expect Halo? I’m so glad they didn’t chose Chief smfh they picked an Alien and that’s Dope asf

Well said. I’m not saying he’ll play badly, I just think it’s a bit of a crutch guest tbh.

oh my gosh i agree so much!! I think spawn is a HUGE LET DOWN and WASTE of a character for KI. I don’t think it fits the game. Keep comics in comics, and get it the eff out of KI. [insert favorite fictional characters name] would have been sick! I’m really disappointed with the CROSSOVER characters. Arbiter is so lame. He kinda fits, and i get it that it’s a MICROSOFT COMPANY thing, but c’mon. Comics???!?!?!?! Really guys? BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. GREAT DISSAPOINT!!

I hope you see what i did here. Im not a fan of guest characters but if we are forced to have them keep it microsoft. Movies, tv and other FG characters would be the biggest letdown for me.

My thoughts exactly. The only two games I play.

I want 343 to add a Fulgore, Jago, and Cinder armor set. In old Halo’s they used to have flaming helmet. They even had Ryu Hayabusa armor with a Katana on the back as a nod to the Spartan added in DoA. Add a armor plate with a rope and a scimitar around the body, tiger plates on forearms, and a mask like they did kind of for Ryu.

Can you imagine how funny it would be if, while in instinct, the Arbiter could summon multiple suicidal grunts using the HP+HK input (similar to Orchid or Rash’s instinct use) that charge the opponent while holding plasma grenades that would cause damage and a juggle upon hit? The chittering sounds they make before they inexplicably die would be awesome!

What if he gets a ground-pound style of attack, similar to Aganos’ footstomp, while using a gravity hammer! :open_mouth:

What’s really cool is that pulling things out of nowhere (or, possibly, out of your butt) is a staple from the Halo games, so I personally would have no problem if they do that with the Arbiter in KI (especially since Rash already kind of does it, materialzing spiked boots, axes, horns, and wrecking balls seemingly out of nowhere).
