I’d imagine that if there are more guest characters, they will all be revealed before a Season 3 trailer, probably released before a character like Tusk.
It probably wouldn’t make sense to have a trailer that says "We got KIM WU, we got a BATTLETOAD, we got ARBITER, and we got… other guest characters that we want to help sell the game, but that we won’t tell you about right now.
To be honestly, I want Bad Mr. Frostly in KI season 3… Because ClayFighter is my first fighting game.

It hits close to home for me too. Just wonder why IG didn’t approach the idea since they are remastering it on PC. Shouldn’t have been hard since i’m sure Interplay and Drip Drop Games would’ve needed the help promoting it. Similar gameplay back then with these two titles, fitting tropes, etc. Would’ve been nice.
None of those characters were even close to being in the game, I mean there are tons of cool characters that could have been added from popular movies and games but you have to think of licensing. I doubt the companies that own any of those properties would easily hand them over.

I think all the “character X isn’t interesting” stuff is awfully subjective. One person’s “how can anyone like this character” is another person’s “how can anyone NOT like this character?” So it’s a tad bit tough to see someone’s argument when they seem so unable to see the other side themselves.
I don’t mean to sound harsh or elitist, really. Maybe I just don’t have a horse I’m backing whole-heartedly here, but when you take personal preference for your character or the opinion of a series or a genre out of the equation, you’re left with the likely scenario that IG will make that character look and play in a way that would make them compelling for KI fans while name recognition could draw some type of outside audience.
Sure, it’s a fairly safe assumption that a guest from a big, popular franchise draws more news coverage (theoretically) and more of an outside audience to your game.
But if Rash, a character from a franchise that lived and died before the first KI ever came out is any indication, MS/IG likely aren’t simply saying “which character can we get that will make the most money?” As their first and final method for reviewing which guests to bring in.
Given all that, and the fact that I like Joanna Dark, Kameo, and many other characters that have been floated out there as well as the fact that I haven’t been in to Halo since the first one, I still think The Arbiter is a good choice, especially after watching those videos that @RGLOfficial posted above.
I think he’ll be a cool choice and I’m psyched to see what IG does with him. Also, the graphics in that tease… WOW. Awesome.
If we have any more guests, it’d be cool to get a character that I’d like to see a lot like Kaim from Lost Odyssey, Raziel from Soul Reaver, or a character from Mace: The Dark Age or perhaps one of MS’ original Xbox fighters (all of these would never happen in a million years, I know), but even if it’s not someone I really really want, I’ll be happy knowing that IG will still make that character awesome at best, and at worst, they’re not going to try and awkwardly shoehorn them in to the story.
TLDR: Buck up, butter cup. Tomorrow’s another day.

Haven’t really played KI in months and had little interest in s3, but slowly they were winning me back. No they’ve completed the sell. I’m in as soon as it’s released. Very cool.

@Rukizzel Q: Will Keith David be reprising his role as the voice of the Arbiter in Killer Instinct like he is in Halo 5?
Personally, if he is, I think he’d make a great announcer voice in his own right as well. 
That being said, I heard about this reveal, ironically, as I was playing Halo 5 - a friend of a friend told my friend and my friend told me. I didn’t believe it and thought a practical joke was being played on me. After all, I watched the stream and saw no preview after the Kim Wu trailer…
…this is 1 of those times I’m glad I’m wrong. I’m not sure how I feel about Arbiter being in the game, but IG hasn’t disappointed me yet, so I guess I’ll just have to wait and see. Interestingly enough, in addition to the plasma sword, the carbine was ALSO shown in the teaser - makes me wonder how he’s going to be using that gameplay-wise, if at all, and what other weapons he might use as well (personally, I’m crossing my fingers in the hopes that the needler will also make an appearance. As others have said, he does seem to be appropriate considering both franchises are from MS. I do worry about how similar he might be to Glacius though, particularly where the head is concerned.
Speaking of appearances, I hope he has 4 variations of his armor by way of accessories: H5, H3, HW, and H2 (pre-Arbiter gold armor).
