OH OH OH! Deadly Creatures, that was fun as hell!
I absolutely loved Evolve and the asymmetrical PvP it had, but that game had a pretty bad early life and doomed itself. The concept had so much potential, and it sucks that the game is likely going to get the servers shut down in the near future.
TRS wasn’t super good at balancing, plus the endless bugs and the community constantly ■■■■■■■■■
Sparkster ( SNES ). This game was amazing to me.
Retro/grade - I had a lot of fun with this but no one bought it.
Bushido Blade - I’m not actually sure how well it sold but it should have sold a lot more, incredible game.
Oh man, boy do I have a list:
-
Battle Fantasia (game that inspired SF4 - don’t know if that’s good or bad tbh)
-
Bullet Witch (great game, great graphics imo. I even sampled a couple of songs and made a beat for this game lol)
-
Otogi 1 & 2 (Great game that needs to be rereleased imo. It plays the way Onigiri SHOULD’VE played)
-
Phantom Dust (I’m soooo waiting for the rerelease on Xbone to drop. It’s realtime MTG with a destructible battle zone)
-
Senko no Ronde (a.k.a. Wartech: Senko no Ronde outside of JPN)
-
Samurai Shodown Sen (it had potential even though they bit off of Soul Calibur hard)
-
NeoGeo Battle Colesium (had the best netcode for a 2D fighter… Still does!!! Plus it’s always overshadowed by the KOF game to be release shortly after
) -
Omega Five (No it is not a hit band, but a really good shmup)
-
Carnage Heart ( PSX game that was waaaay ahead of its time)
-
Kakuto Chojin (Spiritual successor to Tobal series. P.C. crowd killed it)
-
Tobal no 1 & 2 (My favorite in terms of soundtrack was 1. 2 had a better combo system)
-
Iron Man X.O. Man-of-War (Graphics were meh, but boy did I have good times with this game)
-
Final Fantasy 8 (Yep, I’m that dude that thought 8 was better than 7, but I think 4 was better than 7, so…)
-
Culdcept Saga (Monopoly + YuGiOh??? I’m sold!!!)
-
Pariah (FPS from Digital Extremes of Warframe fame)
-
Eternal Arms (first 360 JRPG. Story was actually ok, but there were too many random battles lol)
-
Gekido (PSX beat 'em up that could’ve been revamped now as a smoother fun game)
-
Flashback (No not the remake… The original one on Sega Genesis)
-
Fighters History Dynamite (a.k.a. Karnov’s Revenge. Balloooooon!!!)
-
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (the love child of Mahvel and KOF… Literally!!!)
-
Tatsunoko Vs Capcom (Both versions were great. It sucked that it came out on the Wii [ugh])
-
Shadow Hearts: Covenant (Great JRPG on PS2. Battle system was great, and the characters had unique systems)
-
Tekken 4 (Yep, it was broken, but the game was still better than most imo.)
-
Soul Calibur 3: Arcade Edition (This was Namco’s “I’m Sorry” edition, which was really solid and balanced, but by then the damage from vanilla 3 was already done)
-
Colony Wars (If you like space shooters, and have a PSX, you owe it to yourself to play all 3 of these games)
-
Fade to Black (The sequel to Flashback. The controls were clunky (a la Resident Evil), but the game was still fun)
-
Sacred 2 (This is NOT a Diablo clone despite the naysayers). I’m still waiting for this to get the BC treatment so I can play it on by xbone)
-
Shadowrun (yes the FPS. Despite the lack of maps, I loved the freedom of who you could choose to play as and the abilities they could use)
I’ll end the list… for now… ![]()
Phantasy Star Universe
Well, tack on Battleborn to my list.
The game is fine enough if you ignore the ‘humor’.
Holy crap, that takes me back. I still remember playing the online demo just for the chatting.
I can still picture those guys spamming the chat that floods the screen.
