The interaction of the fighting mechanics of this game is UNIQUE

The particles effects are just Mind Blowng

The music and almost all sound effects

Bugs that happens Randomly that make cash out to not work.

All the cast having different timing to break shadow linkers .I think it should be like sabrewolfs shadow linkers. One really easy to break the other no so easy.

Recapture and Flip, been this a tool, part of the combo/mechanics of the game , that is not available to all the cast makes the characters that dont have this tolls to be in disadvantage .

Easy access, i dont need to jack into the matrix everytime i want to play the game.

Tutorial mode.

Dojo resources.

The game teaches mechanics but it has nothing in terms of traching fundamentals. I long for the day when i dont need to google, extract and read thru a small novel on how to play sf third strike from a guide made almost two decades ago.

+ Extremely casual friendly, welcomes both casuals and seasoned FGC veterans.

+ Lots of fun mechanics to sink into like Shadows, Breakers, Ultras, etc.

+ Fighting fx are incredibly beautiful to look at. Easy to get distracted by the visuals.

- Character models and animations are horridly outdated, some models were just never there from the start.

- Free to play model is atrocious. Essentially the game is only free to play with one rotating character unless you do choose to spend money. I have seen it turn off many people who I truly believe would’ve loved this game. If the concept was going to be followed the idea of more customization variety should have been done earlier. Or rather, KI Gold could’ve been earned on top of experience to unlock characters/accessories/costumes.

- Lack of mainstream promotion aside from within the FGC. Although they have introduce a lot of things to add life to KI, it still suffers from not being recognized or promoted efficiently. I.e. Trailers on all platforms, billboards, merchandise on all scales, casual tournaments in local gaming stores, etc.

+Gameplay. Combo’ mechanic/Ultras and easy to start.
+OST and Stages.
+Online Matchs.

-Story Mode: It’s a good start for the Story Mode but it needs some adjustments, like real cinematics/Lore related between characters (Jago/Shago. Omen/Gargos. Maya/Mira etc).
-Tea-bagging.
-F2P mode: It really needs some changes, because one character each 2 weeks isn’t enough at all to give an opinion about a game.

+Unique combo system means there’s very little downtime when you don’t have to make a decision. The high pace of the game means lots of unique playstyles, lots of small decisions to make that slowly add up to better chances to win, and introduces new mindgames/risk assessment strategies that aren’t present in other games.

+Music, sound effects, and stages are great. Strong overall aesthetic (if slightly inconsistent).

+Amazing spectator game. Even if you don’t understand the game, the presentation and the tense decision making moments make it feel almost like cheating as a spectator game. It’s one of the main strengths the game has; it tends to sell itself when people watch it played, and it’s why I’m a little sad it’s not a Sunday game at Evo this year.

(cheating) +Amazing net code.

-The game is a work in progress and it often shows its cracks. Bugs and incomplete features show up and hamper competitive and casual play a bit too often. As an even more negative side effect, I feel like some people use the game’s history of being slightly buggy and blame certain intended things on bugs, rather than investigate for themselves.

-I feel like the game isn’t comfortable in its own skin. It does amazing things with Shadow AI, then brushes it under the rug for tons of modes where it would be useful and also prevents people from really using the mode for awesome purposes like learning matchups or practicing new characters. The game is built for cosmetic DLC, but never uses it. KI, to me, is sadly a game of a lot of missed opportunities, both for growth as a competitive game and also making money for MS so the game can continue development.

-Double ultras in online matches.

+The wildly different, yet wonderfully fitting character designs. Many of them feel new and unique and fresh in a genre that doesn’t usually get such descriptors, so that’s no small feat. They’re well thought out, well made, and all of them are a blast to play, even the ones that don’t appeal to me personally are still incredibly well done.

+Shadow lords. I know, it hasn’t even come out yet, but from everything I’ve seen so far, it’s the perfect single player mode fro me and I can’t wait to get my grubby little mitts on it.

+The rollout. I thought I’d hate the way this game was coming out, all piecemeal with characters here and modes there, but it’s actually become one of my favorite things about it, quite unexpectedly, I might add. As someone that loves collecting everything in a game, KI has kept me coming back for years now to unlock new colors and accessories, to try out new characters and play in new backgrounds and in new modes and I enjoy every minute of it. Had this game come out as a whole, I probably would’ve stopped playing it a long time ago.

-The consistency between seasons. By that, I mean the fonts, looking different here and there, with assets seemingly still left over from season one, but also it feels like some of the older characters seem a bit plain in comparison to the newer designs.

-Overall content polish. Shago has no accessories, Omen is missing some colors and some accessories. Orchid’s face still looks off and so does a lot of the hair in the game. Some of the season one outfits and accessories look really bad. There’s just certain things that look like they need another coat of polish or brought up to the standards of the rest of the game and it’d be great if the devs went back and did this.

-Lack of a respect taunt. I get that FGs are competitive, but not everyone enjoys being negative in a match, with t-bagging and negative taunts. People have been requesting a way to show that you’re actually a good person to play against / good sportsman for a long time now and it’d be great if this were implemented at some point.

Pos: music throughout all seasons is superb.
Neg: “oh virtua fighter 5, oh soul caliber. How I miss your character customization options ”

Pos: constantly improving and balancing the game
Neg: very few hard hitting characters. Season 2 characters really miss that power displayed by Tusk and certain season 1 characters.

Pos: particle effects and beautiful detailed characters.
Neg: not being able to fully appreciate particle effects and character detail due to camera zooming out too much with Aganos, Gargos and RAAM as opponents.

+Sound effects, Mike announcer, music are SUPERB. Particle effects and graphics also.
+Combo system improved a lot from the originals. Gameplay in general is AWESOME.
+Sadira and Hisako are terrific new characters.

-Some characters are not fun to play, such as Maya, Aganos, Mira, Gargos. Too much “tools” and less martial arts/fight tech.
-Some missing things from the originals, like Mini-ultra, Ultra-breaker, Ultimates, Eyedol.
-Season 3 has the best gameplay, but was a huge stepback from s2. 3 stages and 3 guests (awful guests btw) was the worst idea ever. As i can see Shadow Lords is like those cell phone games to grab money. S3 in general is bad.

I like the characters, particularly the guests they’ve added.
I like Shadow Labs. I’ve only just recently began to actually play this.
I guess I’ll say its easy access. The tutorial and CAM.

I dislike soooo many accessories. So many outfits and intros, stuff like that. “I’ve got a frickin dragon.”
I am completely uninterested in the story. The lore and storyline just seem plain dumb to me. Playing the story mode to Season 2 really decreases my excitement for the franchise. It just discolored the whole game for me. It feels so corny.
I don’t like the way Ultras function. They are cool but very frustrating at the same time.
