Which characters are you looking at? It is only for s3 characters.
thanks. i see them. ![]()
Patch 3.1 hasnât solved this problem. Not for me at least.
Also, there are more of us who cannot access Shadow Lab at all since 3.0, I believe.
James sent me a message saying it wont be corrected yet. He has his best team working on it and mentioned you too. So its 4-5 of us that it has effected that he knows of. Hopefully it will be soon.
Itâs not a nitpick. There are multiple legitimate ways of defending against a throw attempt after a blocked wind kick: throw teching, late teching (so that if they press a button instead youâll be in blockstun when you hit LP+LK), DP, backdashing, etc. Those counters in turn have counters which the advantaged player can use to beat them: jumping beats any throw tech attempt, any slow or delayed move that covers enough range beats the backdash, blocking beats the DP, etc. You can continue to fill out the list of options on each side by looking for counters to various options already on each list, and then analyze them on a risk-reward basis to get a sense of how âthe -3 gameâ plays out if both players are well-versed in it â and I would not say that it boils down to âthey usually get thrownâ.
But also, the nitpicky-sounding aspect of this whole thing â the âthatâs not what âpunishâ meansâ aspect â is pretty important for the clarity of this kind of conversation, so can I just ask that you be respectful of that? When you start talking about frame data and competitive balancing, you need some precise terminology, and if youâre not careful with it then people get confused very quickly.
Itâs because unless youâre nabbing them with the very tip of crMK (which people can get overly obsessive about, and which you can avoid with some familiarity with your strings and whatnot anyway), cancelling into medium laser sword will hit and is just better due to the +1 on block. Also, crMK is itself +1 on block so you could just frame trap after it, or you could cancel into an endokuken charge mixup. Jagoâs gameplan is in large part about maintaining frame advantage for days, so defaulting to the cancel that leaves you negative when you have a better option is far from ideal.
But also, it seems that in talking about whether itâs morally âokayâ for people to do crMK xx medium wind kick or for them to be bad at defending against throws, youâre steering the discussion away from the competitive-minded conversation about character balancing and frame data that was previously being had, as though outraged that weâre trying to force others to play the game as we decree. Iâm okay with people doing nothing but jumping MK with Jago all day if they want (well, itâd irritate me, but whatever), but bringing it up in a discussion about competitive balancing just degrades the discourse.
Exactly. Thats why i dont get the change. At least make light boot 0 on block when run cancelled. But with this change i will never use boot on block again. Med boot was too strong but light boot could have some advantage when run cancelled compared to not run cancelled.
Regardless - i will use light headram on block instead of boot since i can combo of it and being inly -2 is fine.
Download finished. The way Mira looks into the camera when you select her, just gives me chills. So deadly! So sweet!
@FallofSeraphs76 Thanks for the feedback. Appreciated.
Short answer:
It is kinda hard to open people up when you are minus on everything you do.
With Kan-Ra you are at disadvantage as soon as the match starts. And it is hard to come back when you canât open up people and you wonât deal any damage anyway.
Yessir. Iâm so glad someone else brought the Win10 matchmaking crashing up. I was hoping this patch would yield a fix.
AlasâŠ
Just to bring this to the attention of the illustrious Mr. @TheKeits
But isnât the point of a zonner like Kan-Ra to open people up from a distance? I thought his setups with filing the screen with swarms plus maâ soup plus a very good j.HP crossup plus command grab was good to open people up.
I had the feeling heâs minus on everything exactly to incentive the use of long range tools. I also had the feeling his buff on scorpion damage was to give Kan-Ra good damage output on raw hits - since youâre trying to open your opponent from a distance you wonât be starting too many combos and having raw hits from sting hurt more seems a good compromise.
Glad you guys tweaked the counter breaker stuff. It was really weird doing hisakos manuals, hitting counter breaker before the delayed HP/HK or MP/MK hit, hearing the counter breaker bluff sound but still getting combo broken. Not sure if thatâs just an online issue or not, but I swear I hit the CouBrea button before ![]()
Is this vacuum effect just a temporary solution or permanent? It feels rather odd shes the only character in the game that doesnât have a forward advancing shadow counter. I woke up this morning and did some testing with the new change in 3.1 patch and as you stated its still rather weak and not working on things other characters SC would have. @TheKeits
Also on an unrelated note, R.I.P Maya in the Glacius matchup. That Instant jump mantis was crucial for getting past hail.
Sux that this is seeming to be a big issue. Tusk was gonna be my next Shadow, but yeahâŠ
Hereâs hoping that they get the issue resolved soon. You say there are 4-5 of us? Have we all submitted speed tests and the like?
As if that MU was ever in Glaciusâ favorâŠ
That nerf is completely unwarranted, lmao. As if he wasnât nerfed to hell already. What a jokeâŠ
It was always 5-5 in Season 2. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong and wasnât playing it right.
Im not sure about the speed testsâŠI know Stan did and myself. I dont think Bo Jima did becasue he seemed to not know about the details when I mentioned it earlier.
Have you? But like I was telling SkeletalâŠthe common denominator here is all 4 of us have huge shadow files. We all have a ton of recordings âŠlike over 1500 and characters with up to 500 matches.
EDIT: It was 5-5 in S2 but it still is in S3, maybe even in Mayaâs favor thanks to her extra damage. Also, why do you need mantis when, in most cases, you could just throw daggers in those situations?
Yeah, I have. I even put it out there that I really donât care about the data, and if they could just wipe it that would be fine. Unfortunately they said that may cause other problems so that isnât on the table at the moment. For now, the Shadow Lab will just remain off limits.
