Nope, that’s your own subjective observations. When you start pulling out a timer and time every search, then do it for everyone else, then you have evidence to back that up.

Did you even read the article? That is not what he said at all. He praisd the game (and team) saying…

“We wanted to rethink its model a little bit and sell it in a different way than the traditional way fighting games are typically sold, which has actually worked really well for us.”

And also said…

“…then when they launched yesterday as a cross-buy cross-play on Windows 10, I was just so proud of Shannon Loftis and the team that’s off driving this, because it’s the little game inside the studios that could. It was something people didn’t always bet on, and some bet against a little bit, and here it is having a great impact for us…”

KI is not Halo. KI is not GoW. KI is a MUCH smaller game in comparison to all the other MS titles, yet it has continued to grow, sell, and be successful since it’s launch, and the launch of the X1.

Ok, so maybe you should probe MS on KI’s sales figures before you say KI isn’t profitable?

Again, he said nothing at all. He says what he has to say in the public eye. What else could he say? This game sucks, we aren’t meeting expectations, we would cancel this game if we didn’t need to to make our console seem slightly more attractive to potential console buyers.

Already did, you’re late.

Is there anyone on this forum that isn’t a troll besides me? It sure doesn’t seem like it.

Nope, you’re the only troll.

Lol

I didn’t know MS shared their financial earnings with you. Would you be so kind sharing them with us?

You accuse their official statements of being nothing more than lies, while you continuously provide info and incorrect numbers from unreliable sources and call them facts!

And other than that, you talk all big about the poor kids in Brazil who just wants to play the game, while you complain about having to wait a WHOLE MINUTE for an online battle!

I’m sorry, but it is REALLY hard to take you seriously. XD

For one,you are pulling claims out of your butt. Where is your reliable sources? The source you provided is not accurate at all. By the time S1 disc launched, the majority who wanted it already downloaded it. Not an accurate estimate of sales at all. Furthermore,if the game is failing, why is it getting a 3rd Season? If it is failing, then why did Phil Spencer call it a success?

Soooo KI’s “success” is imaginary…just a MS marketing ploy to continue a dying game’s legacy, or to save face after releasing an unsuccessful game (you pick), in order to “pad out” the games library for MS’s console / platform. MS put KI on PC to “save” said dying game, because, though it has been an utter failure, the PC market can save the game?

Look, (again) NONE OF US KNOW how much money KI has generated or successful is has, or has not been, since its launch. BUT, I do know that…

  • KI had a successful launch in 2013.
  • KI got a second season and generated $100,000 from the community for tournaments in said season (2015).
  • KI is now on it’s third season, and has expanded to the PC.
  • KI has just announced a new season of events for the coming 2017 KIWC.

This all goes along side Phil Spencer saying that KI (and its business model) has been doing well for them, and touting KI as having an “impact” on the MS platform by being the first Cross-Buy, Cross-Play game in its roster (I know, I know…it all marketing speak).

SMH. I realize you are just trying to win an argument here, and thus so, all you have to do is post credible proof of what you are asserting. VG Chartz doesn’t count. Give me something more than your opinion, or you “feeling” on the subject, and post something tangible.

Basically this.

Know this OP: Ki is not a traditional “F2P game” It’s really a demo and the character pacts are actually the game itself. You basically pay for what you want. Think of it more as a demo and your buying the full game or not. That is the intended purpose.

Sadly it has been mistaken for this in the past.

Just keep in mind OP, you should save some money to buy what you want.

Also this!

I’m hoenstly not salty one bit because It means with the pricing it makes things easier for people who want to play the game.

It takes me longer, but I think it tries to match you locally or closely for best connection first and then expands range if it can’t find immediately available close opponents. I also think it takes internet latency and speed into account, so those are also factors why it takes me longer to get a hit in matchmaking.

If you’re tired of trolling, here’s some real talk:

How about MS has never released any sales figures on the game in any form, physical or digital and the only sales figures available are from the best guess estimate of a website that hardly holds any relevance at all in this modern age?

MS has never given exact digits on KI’s profitability, ever. So the ONLY possible way you would know these figures is if you are in the unique position of being in on their accounting department and having privileged access to this information, and I am not in a position to believe you do. At this point, you are tossing out imaginary numbers with little relevant proof from any legitimate credible source with any actual tie to MS to have the official statistics from. In short: There is no WAY you know this information, NO WAY. So unless you can point to a firsthand Microsoft source with sales estimates, profits, and projected outcomes sales figures, don’t expect anyone to take you at your word, and there is ZERO chance you will find that. And no VGChartz does NOT count, it is not Microsoft affiliated.

But here is one for you: this game has survived two years of being a console only exclusive on what started as the most unpopular of platforms during this current console generation. Not only has it successfully sold two seasons worth of content, but even given a great deal of extra content for bundle price to which people still pay, such as the vanity items like retros and accessories. Add to that, around 9 or so months ago, this community, the KI community, was asked to open their wallets to fund what is one of the most awesome crowdfunded things ever. We got to see a skin get turned into it’s OWN CHARACTER. They gave us two weeks to help fund $100000, two weeks, it took all of one weekend, what they gave us two weeks to do. This community loves this game that much.

KI has some of the best people loving and supporting this title. That one event proved that when there’s the will, we have the way. This game is more than profitable already. Heck I owned Shadow Jago since DAY ONE, and I still bought the Shadow Jago pack to see this thing happen. I even own the limited edition figure to have the colors 10 and 11. If you have a problem believing this game can’t be marketed or be profitable as it is, that’s YOUR problem.

Finally, this game is not, and never was free to play. The PC version already has free online play, where Xbox One owners have to pay for Gold to play online. I believe that is concession enough, beyond that PC players deserve no extra treatment and freebies just to entice. If they aren’t enticed by the quality of content already provided, making it free isn’t going to make it any shinier or more appealing. Duke Nukem is at Walmart for $5 because it’s horrible. At that price, they are giving it away, but no one buys it still. If they don’t want it, changing it’s price won’t help.

Also, you are not the only person on this forum to bring this up. Next time, use the search tool and trying searching the older threads to see if this has been said before. I can already tell you it has, and it was met with a lot of disdain for the practice.

If you don’t like the seasonal model for KI, then that’s your opinion, but don’t make up false knowledge just to hide a weak argument.

a lot of other f2p games only allow you to buy characters with real money.

I’m kind of surprised that people have been clearly feeding a troll for a while now. Was it because no one put up a “do not feed the troll sign”? If so we need one as pretty much every one has replied with facts to the OPs multiple views on KI.

I,Rainbow Rash respond to threads like this.

Absolutely untrue. I’m going to ask you to stop spreading misinformation.

But they give you a base character or characters. lol There would be no other way to play them. You get 0 characters with this game, none.
