Why people are so sensitive over nerfs and buffs?

Some people don’t like change. Nothing you can do.

Lol. I’m still waiting on that set bro

Is like they don’t know thrashheavy.

Who is this thrashheavy character? I must come for his crown.

If you’re a TJ main I love you lol

I know Fulgore at least has had his entire play style completely changed since season 1. There he was more of an odd combo of a rush-down/zoner where you would try to force your opponent away from you while you charged your meter, and after his reactor was full you’ld ram him down their throats. Plus he had his anti-Sadira HP laser…

Now he’s almost entirely rush-down with a few odd zoning leftovers, such as his Heavy " get the ■■■■ away from me" kick. Plus every season his heavy laser has changed, so it went from strong anti air to ok-ish anti air to “how exactly am I supposed to get over to him in time to take adavatage of this? Oh crap he jumped over it! What do I use for anti-air?!?” stagger.

But yeah, a lot of these changes, even if they seem insignificant, can greatly change how a character plays, and sometimes it’s hard to wrap your head around, especially if you’ve put a lot of effort into learning the muscle memory for what move is good for what only to have it fail on you because your character changed.

After all, I doubt anyone learning to play Ryu would be content knowing he’s been replaced with Dan.

Do not underestimate Dan, he is lowkey op :kappa:

You don’t understand because you’re a casual player (there’s nothing wrong with that btw). The guys complaining are competitive players who dedicated years of their lives, sometimes 6-8 hours a day, training to be the best. When the character changes so drastically and most of that work goes right out the window, you can’t understand why they’d complain? Come on…

Also, Snake Eyez has mostly dropped Gief. In recent tournaments he’s playing Alex / Ryu.

There’s a difference between “learning to adapt” and cutting your losses and moving on. Casual players need to “learn to understand” this.

I don’t think it’s about relearning a character as much as adapting to their new tools. Characters got nerfed, but with the exception of maybe Kan-Ra, most of their tech is still there. They were given new tools to help keep them viable, which most people seem to ignore because they can’t adjust.

I agree, more casual players dont see how much time more dedicated players spend in the training room. having all that work get thrown out a patch later can be devestating.

Nerfs and buffs need to happen, but its ok to be frustrated when they do. getting kicked in the nuts is still getting kicked in the nuts no matter how nice the shoe kicking you are.

I personally, take all Nerfs/Buffs as a chance to challenge myself with new things and approaches. I become a better player in the long run, IMO.
