KI launched after mortal kombat 3. Mk3 finishers were on par with KI ultimates. yes both games had both crappy and good ones. animality were the worst but everyone did them. combos were cool cause it looked good but make no mistakes ultimates were the handout of the time.
Just seems like another “I WIN!” moment.
In MK, after you have seen the fatalities, do you even care anymore?
I still fail to see how KI would some how be a clone of MK just for having Ultimates as if nothing else KI has had on it could establish it from other fighters. I feel the argument that KI is suddenly an MK clone because of Ultimates is not a reasonable argument.
In my case, certainly because they’re always fun to do. Because it is at the end of the match it’s dynamic and fun. Now Ultras I stopped caring about half way through season 1, they’re like SF hyper-super what have yous, just no camera angle implementation.
no, I didn’t mean a clone. I just meant KI went toe to toe with MK3 at the time of hotness. KI2 further evolved the concept by adding the input as a combo ender. which IMO is that KI2’s implementation did it better.
and so that why I’m sad their not in the game. everyone is bored with ultras and to have a match end in dead silence is anticlimactic. Even ultra cancels being as sleek as they are is anticlimactic.
Yeah that’s pretty much how I feel.

I’ve played KI to death back in the day and I’m still not missing the Ultimates. Sure, it would be nice but it is so irrelevant to the game itself.
I look at Shago’s " Ultimate " as just another Street Fighter IV-esqe Ultra
Indeed, We also had people who still wan the season 1 retros to be altered but IG even said they were not going to change them. They are still presisstant about it to. So I say we shouldn’t giv eup on ultimates.
Truthfully, even if we get them I doubt everyone would be pleased due to the fact they want to keep the game T rated. Therefore, putting them in would be great but most likely they’d really really toned down.
Well with ultimates it doesn’t HAVE to have the rating kicke dup. Lots of people assume this but it doesn’t have to be.
HEck they found a way to make it work with Shago and still keep the T-rating.
Remmber not everything involving afinishing move involves dismemberment, ripping out organs, chopping off faces or exposed brains and ribs ect.
I completely agree with you but the bar has been set. That’s why I said if they do add them it’ll cause a whole new cra storm imo. They’d have to get very creative due to the lack of certain types of violence. Although, I’d love to see Riptors’(no mercy or ultimate I forgot?) again where she eats u lol.
I don’t think they have to recreate all of the Ultimates of the old, if anything folk can either share ideas or maybe the IG team might be creative enough to actually make something cool.
Fulgore’s hype beam could go full blast and obliterate the enemy, Cinder’s finisher can reduce someone to as, Riptor could something viscous albeit their won’t have to be dismemberment etc.
Even if the bar has been set it does not mean they are limited in creativity with what they can do.
Besides on a forum it would be expected at this point that people pretty much complain about everything regardless, the people who always make big deals about nit-picks will always make big deals about nit-picks. So yea there’s that.
Well this is where you can get more creative with this stuff. Riptors ultimate was her eating her foe and she got bloated. but knowing the devs they would probably have her just much on them but you cannot see it screen. and like @JEFFRON27 said. We don’t need to recreate them, just make newer ones.
Even if there was a bar set by people on the forums, that doesn’t mean IG is not going heed 100% of everything we say. Even they can come up with ways to keep a T-rating while adding ultimates.
In my opinion KI started the “fatality at the end of the combo” = MK’s Brutality.
I never cared for the No Mercys but the Ultimates were awesome! and these were the finishers you did when you really wanted to show your dominance over your opponent.
I agree but that’s one I wouldn’t mind seeing updated. But a new ones would be great.
They’re not. I can’t believe every time I see someone say they won’t play the new KI because it doesn’t have ultimates or those lame as hell finishers from the old game. They in no way affect gameplay.
Like many others are saying. It’s nostalgia, it’s tradition, it’s one of KI’s signatures that defined the franchise.
And they SHOULD be in KI for XboxOne. Are they needed? No. But neither are Ultra Combos; but they exist because this is Killer Instinct.
I think MS/IG should make the effort to add Ultimates sooner than later. I mean we only waited close to two decades for a KI revival. Give vets and new players a complete representation of the KI experience. 
KI in its current state is a great fighting game, but let’s not lie to ourselves as if seeing Fulgore transform into a laser turret wouldnt be amazing.

that is a good point. id rather have the no mercies to be honest but ever since shago showed off the potential this game has with his ultimate, the fans just want the game to live up to its potential.
