None of the ones you listed. If I had to make a comparison it would be Testament with James Murphy on lead, Children of Bodom, or maybe old Symphony X.
I could totally see Chuck Billy belting something out over Gargos’s theme.
lol
I can actually see death metal band Kataklysm playing Gargos’ theme.
Heck, just look at that album cover. It almost screams Gargos!
Example:
Listen to Raining Blood from Slayer and you can hear where his theme got a lot of inspiration from.
I dont hear any Slayer besides the ■■■■■ beat and a piece of the chorus riff. To me its a mix of Children of Bodom, James Murphys solo album, maybe a hint of Devin Townsend/ Strapping Young Lad/ Ziltoid or Testament.
There is a little part that has the same riff dynamics as the Rain in blood mid section, but the feel of the rest of the riffs is too theory based to be compared to slayer. Slayer is straight chromatic, makes no sense theoretically and is all written by ear as if “that sounds good, lets go with it.”
the original version from KI2 has more of a Slayer feel than the new version.
Mastadon.
