See, I just get clowned on by KanRa when playing RAAM. Navigating the Swarm BS w/ Bear Grab & FADC is usually the easy part, it’s navigating his grabs and superjump shenanigans that drive me ■■■■■■■■ I just can’t lay hands on him. If the player is more focused on setting up Swarms and stuff, I can usually manage - but I don’t try to bulldoze through Swarms, I’ll inch forward and if I have to I’ll knife’em out the way. It’d be great if you could Bear Grab through’em. That’d make the whole ordeal a ton less tedious.
Honestly, Kan gives me WAYYY more trouble than Glacius. Glacius is just about patience, but Bear Grab and careful FADC’s go a good deal farther against Glacius than Kan.
It’s really all about FADC and knowing when to bail on an approach and just wait a sec. Patience patience patience. I have lost to the clock a few times because of this though. Kinda sucks shrug
Fulgore just sounds like a nightmare. If you let Spinal get a couple of skulls it’s bad enough, Fulgore is almost like if Spinal had free skulls all the time. Ugh.
One MU I haven’t seen is the Raam<Aria MU. If Aria knows what she’s doing in her hover body, ■■■■ can get really tough for Raam. Her projectile assist helps zone. If Raam uses his bear grab, Aria just hovers above him until the armor dissipates and well. Rinse repeat. Her normals are pretty dang good too. Only balancing figure in the MU is how little health Aria has and how much damage Raam’s grabs do. @DesirousCat3658 Got it pretty good imo: [quote=“DesirousCat3658, post:13, topic:16821, full:true”]
RAAM vs. (pick one) Cinder, Glacius or Fulgore. Eyedol is only manageable thanks to the switch increase and nerfs.

I can think of a few that have some quirks that make them really suck.
-Spinal/Omen vs Fulgore can lead to a very bad day for Fugbot if they get their momentum going. Why? Because they can keep Fulgore from using meter. Now, the death bot is a solid enough character to handle himself without, but it’s a severe handicap that limits his options, and handicaps are never something you want.
-Projectile Rushdown vs Hisako. I’m leaving this kinda open to "characters that have projectile moves that are used for CQC pressure rather than just zoning. Spinal, Riptor, Mira, Omen, Maya… They all use projectiles in pressure. This means that Hisako can’t use her counter to escape most of what they do. She has to either turtle or find a way around it. Another direct handicap.
-DP characters vs Sadie. A character that approaches from the air above your head vs a vertical, fully invincible, sky high anti-air? Usually doesn’t end well for the spider queen.
-Characters with multiple/really high jumps vs Characters who’s AA options don’t go very high. Sadira, Gargos, and Cinder are all incredibly dominant in the air. This means characters who’s anti-air potential is limited mostly to crouching HP (Hisako, Mira) or a grounded Special (Sabrewulf, TJ, Spinal, Omen) are going to have a rough time knocking them out of the air.
I’ll just post here instead of the other thread. I don’t think Raam vs Gargos, Fulgore, Aria, or Kan-ra are too bad. They’re mostly just patience and identifying what the other person is trying to do and when they’re going to do it. It’s annoying and you’ll probably spend the majority of the match losing, but once you catch them it’s Raam’s birthday. Cinder on the other hand sucks because even if you catch him he gets to escape with that stupid back roll. If he only had DP I could safe jump it and duck it for days, but because that back roll takes him so far so fast I can’t find a way to catch it and avoid the DP like I can with the other DP characters.
@SithLordEDP That back roll DOES have it’s downsides though. If you have match-ups where you need to get close it can be a problem especially against Glacius and Gargos.
Hisako has no MU’s worse than 6-4, and of the characters listed here, only Riptor actually beats her. Aria is her other losing fight, but once booster is dead it’s not a tough match at all. Riptor used to be a 7-3 I think, but it’s gotten quite a bit better in S3.
Worst fight in the game now is probably attached to Raam (though I’m pretty sure Aria/Raam isn’t too terrible). Before he existed, S1 Thunder vs Fulgore was probably the worst MU. Thunder was just never allowed to get in, and S1 Fulgore hit like an m’effin truck in combo, so if Thunder messed up the damage swing wasn’t even in his favor. Sadira vs launch Aganos in S2 was also pretty miserable.
At EVO, Keits mentioned that Gargos/Wulf was ■■■■■■■■■ the instant Gargos got a minion out, but I’m not sure how (if at all) Gargos’ nerfs have affected his opinion of the MU now.
Aria v RAAM - Wing Body can be really rough, but it gets a lot easier if she switches off of Wing Body. Either way, I don’t think it’s as bad as KanRa v RAAM pretty much at any point.
Cinder? Ya think? That’s another one I haven’t fought yet, and I honestly hadn’t even thought of it, but now that I think about it, between his tendency to be in the air anyway and those ■■■■ bombs and infernos… I can see how that actually could be more obnoxious than KanRa, but for totally different reasons.
Do you think Cinder is worse than Fulgore? Those are 2 I haven’t played as RAAM, but I think Fulgore’s teleports might give him a stupidly annoying edge on Cinder in this one. Thoughts?
Care to elaborate? Or are you doing that thing where you say nonsensical stuff that would usually have a twitch emote after it? I can never tell with you, man, I swear. No disrespect.
But if you’re serious, please do explain, cuz I’ve never considered this. I haven’t even seen the matchup, but I’m having a hard time envisioning it being particularly rough either way…?
In my experience, the golem wins this matchup hands down. I’ve only fought 2 Kim Wu players that consistently beat my Aganos, and they belong to @SonicDolphin117 and @TheNinjaOstrich.
No seriously, this matchup sucks for Kim. It’s hard for her to approach Aganos, and to tack on damage with his Armor Chunks. Plus, Aganos can close space to his advantage, which can be troublesome for Kim. Kim has a hard time starting offense because of Aganos’s Armor.
@CrazyLCD is right in it being a bad matchup. Not LITERALLY 10-0. He’s just exaggerating lol. But it isn’t a fun match for Kim.
Let me tell you about that Kim vs Orchid matchup though…
