We have now seen All 3 Stages coming in Season 3

@CrazyLCD if they release more than 3 stages with S3 at this point, then the community will never believe anything they say ever again. I just don’t see that being a possibility.

People skip intros all the time too but they aren’t going to stop making those.

It would be interesting to add both themes for both fighters in a stage. If the momentum starts changing or a combo break happens the theme would switch to the other characters.

Yep, still colossally disappointed that they are the only three. A little piece of why I love KI is dead this season.

What major features would you sacrifice to get those missing S3 stages?

To answer that question myself; I think those stages are the most dispensable feature. If they had to cut something, I say they made the right call.

The last two season didn’t need to sacrifice anything to have a full set of stages, so whatever they’re adding that has made them decide to remove character stages is unnecessary in my eyes if it means axing existing parts of the game.

It makes sense to me that the 3 stages are for the returning characters and the flagship Xbox character. And frankly, I’m glad they turned out the way they did. As long as each character still has a theme, I’m ok with it.

I think circumstances were unusual for S2. IG had just shown up with no familiarity with the software, etc. You know the story. To keep players around they had to rush just to get a couple characters in time for S2

I tend to think they KNOW we would have been willing to wait for late stage releases. So why say “only 3, period”? Something unusual is going on…

When it all comes to light, I’m sure we’ll all say “You know, you could have explained all this back when you announced lighting changes… We’d have been cool with that. You might have saved yourselves from a lot of unnecessary angst.”

All the hush-hush makes me roll my eyes.

Well, I guess this depends on how you look at it. There’s still a lot of features and upgrades and modes that are not yet in the game. So you can make the case that they sacrificed plenty for the sake of one character one stage. Whether these sacrifices were worth it is a value judgment. I would suggest that the relative value of adding a stage for each character when you have 8 stages is a lot higher than when you have 17.

We will just have to see what else they are giving us. I’m a bit worried that people are expecting something completely awesome and unexpected and their just may not be that one Killer feature that gets everyone to say “ah, that’s why no stages.”

This exactly. You don’t know what they’ve added but you’re already calling it unnecessary?

Honestly, if we have been offered season 3 then I for one am gonna want to have a little bang for my buck. With the likes of Rash and Mira not having their own stages I do actually feel like the game is a little incomplete. This especially shows in the games survival mode where said character are in stage that really do not reflect their personalities. Rash in an Egyptian Temple and Mira in the Tibetan Mountains. Err… I really do hope that someday soon those missing stages will be created and put into the game. Fingers crossed!

The reason why other fighters like Mortal Kombat get away with it is because the music tracks are also 1:1. It was easier in KI1 and KI2 to hold this concept because the rosters were smaller.

I’m a huge KI fan and it’s one of the main reasons I own an XB1 but I was disappointed with the 3 stages. Tusk’s stage does look bland and was really looking forward to Rash’s stage. It was one thing I’d always get excited for every time a new character was released but that’s gone now. I still love the game though and really digging the new characters.

I dont think Tusks stage is bland…have you noticed when the Sail blows off the ship and flys away into the wind? Oh man that looks so cool. I never noticed it until last night! And the Polar bear and the little dolphin looking creature…if you watch really closely there is some really interesting things going on in there.

I felt exactly the same about Rash when season 3 launched, and having the music as well. Imagine my surprise when I saw that he had not stage. You just can’t help but feel like something is missing. It also feels like a bit of a rushed effort to get the characters and the content released. They really should take the time to work on the stages because that is also a massive part of KI.

it takes more than a little bit of time to do the stages. stages are the most expensive thing to make in KI both in terms of money, time and manpower available to work on it

I hate how Protoss with gun got his own stage but Mira and fkin main boss won`t get their own.

it was probably part of the requirements to allow the are-biter to get into KI. must have complete move set, mechanics, and his own stage/theme. its disappointing for sure, but no use cryin over it because its done already.

Whether it was a requirement or not, having a Halo themed stage is a way to draw in Halo fans.
