I can’t help but ask the question…are you serious? Specifically about the graphics, and the detail of Tusk and his sword. Have you seen the teaser in HD 60fps?
Do you see the light reflecting off the blade? The dings and scratches all over the thing? I looks phenomenal, like a real weapon that has been through some stuff.
Check out the discoloration of his skin, and the muscle definition. Heck, even his nipple look realistic. Also, his hair does move realistically…for the fraction of a second that we see it move. It is impossible to tell if the hairs move individually…but I’d wager they don’t as this is an FG, and character models in FGs somewhat take a hit across the board.
Look at Ken’s hair from SFV…
All in all I think you are being a little harsh on KI. No game is perfect, but so far (with the exception of Kim WU…I agree with you about her face) S3 looks great!
LOL! Come on bro! You know the dude is going to be massive and command presence! I would think he will have similar dimensions to Eagle. His physisque looks like a cross between Jago and Eagle, so you know the guy is going to be buff as (Rhymes With Duck)
Like I said man, am hoping to be proven wrong in his final trailer. I was never a fan of Tusk, am not a fan of Conan the Barbarian, I think his sword could have been more unique, the tattoo on his back is okay and unique but the ones on his arm look like they got it out of the front page of a magazine. Unless his tattoo’s start glowing blue like in Disney’s Atlantis I won’t find them exceptional. Right now Tusk is just a guy with a Sword to me and I am being pretty rough on him. I never liked him in the first place so it’s a big hill climb for me to find his design appealing.
Also Ken’s face is the worst part about SFV and everyone agrees with that.
@CRIS178 It is perfectly fine for to have your own opinion and all that, I respect that. Not at all I’m not saying you are wrong, it is just hard for me to believe. I mean, I know that everyone has their thing, but some things I would hope are just objective.
The only other thing I’d bring up is your assertion / opinion that…
I mean…KI was doing that in Season 1.
And I know all this is subjective…IDK…I guess I really just don’t see what you see.
He does look kinda short - not that there is anything with being short. He just doesn’t appear to have the same height as in previous games. Regardless, he looks pretty cool…
I mean… giant bells exist in real life. I could go to Philadelphia and see one. KI could have created a bell-esque non-bell object and put it in Jago’s stage to better separate fantasy from reality, but they chose a real life object.
Tusk’s stage is across a sweeping Norse landscape, which seems like the very definition of “larger than life” to me. It looks like another bright, outdoor stage that everybody seems to universally love (Aganos, Thunder, etc).
I was just thinking about how this stage would leverage their new lighting mechanic, and what the cycle of the stage would be (including the ultra combo “destruction” part). Wouldn’t it be cool if the northern lights showed up in the second round and cast an eerie colorful glow on everything? Man that’d be awesome, I hope I’m right on that, lol.
Karin’s stage has a nice color palette, and I like the Japanese scenery in the background, sure. But they still have those really wooden, low-poly characters dancing in the background that really takes you out of the mood, the same thing in virtually every SF4 stage with no apparent increase in quality since 7 years ago. I mean… it’s totally serviceable and unoffensive, and it doesn’t get in the way of the fighting which is good, but it’s not something that knocks me off my feet.
