It was pretty brutal. The day after we arrived, I woke up and was literally paralyzed from the infection. Doctors think it was the pressure from sitting in a vehicle for about 15 hours that may have made it rupture. Luckily, my friends mother was a nurse and knew what to do. The vacation wasn’t all bad. The next day, I felt perfectly fine. I just couldn’t go swimming. A few weeks later, I had a second surgery to finish up some things the ER docs didn’t do.
The real struggle right here
These mofos are all over beaches in Portugal. They bury themselves in the sand and they stick out their venomous fins. I stepped on so many growing up and it’s PAINFUL AF. At one point I was wearing sandals when going swimming.
But the worst pain I had was a separated rib while wrestling. It was 5 days in which I could only take shallow breaths and could barely sleep. Doing sports I had many other injuries: torn MCL, both shoulders dislocated, KO’d with punches to the jaw, sprained most joints, ice hockey slapshots hitting my groin, etc, but the rib separation was the worst.
I take it that was his own version of a “gift” to you from him by any chance?
Also how did your arm felt after that?
Was riding my bike to work late at night with proper clothes with reflectors and lights on my bike. I got hit by a car making a left at ~25mph. I flew 35 feet and slid another 10.
Both my right leg and right ankle were broken. That was the worst physical pain I have ever felt. But the 7 weeks that followed was the worst psychological pain I have ever endured. I felt utterly useless, and was constantly berated by my step father for not working when I could barely stand for 30min.
OUCH!!! if only your step dad knew you were not in any condition to work after that. Plus I can’t see how that incident was your fault.
Numb… I can’t feel my arm for 5 mins
I got $10,000 out of it after medical/lawyer fees.
Worst pain was earleir this week, constant tooth pain and pressure, hrut so ■■■■ bad I couldn’t sleep until I was to exausted to fight…I haven’t any pain like that since then.
I played some Lacrosse as a kid.
On one occassion, running and scooping up, I mispositioned my stick- with the other end at a steep angle. Ever see pole vaulting? That’s pretty much what happened to me. Just one end of the pole on the ground, and the other end on my nads.
OOUCH!!! wow, that is painful. right where the sun don’t shine.
Anytime I think I’m in pain, I just remember that my wife gave birth to four kids then I suck it up.
Wasp sting.
I’m pretty fortunate. In all honestly.
OK. WTF.
I know this is stupid. But It was very very very hurt than you think… My arm go numb. I can’t feel my arm for few mins.
One morning I was making tea with this maker that I got for my mom on mother’s day. When I took the coffee thing out (the one that holds the coffee beans) I closed it and it mashed my pinky finger. it hurt so bad, my stomach felt turned. It didn’t stop hurting till after math class got done that day which was my first class of the morning.
But can you name some experiences that were painful if any?
Skateboarding for 30 years years. (Of pain)
Trying to slide down on top of stair case
handrail on skateboard sideways down
15 steps, board shoots out under my
feet, landing me on top of handrail.
on my balls the rest of the way down.
(My back\Knees\Ankel)
Example
Rib injuries are not only painful, they take along
time to heal, makes the person miserable.
LOL and there is nothing the doctors can really
do, I had one so bad I could not breath or
sleep either.
A friend of mine had a broken rib once. He was lifting weights when his friend got his attention. He lost his grip and the bar landed right on his rib.
The worst [art is if you break a rib cage, you ain’t getting that back.
Hmmm, this is a tough one. First off, I have a high tolerance for pain. So much so that it’s nearly medically noted, so my answers may be a little skewed. Plus excluding one incident, I have never broken or torn anything (that I know of).
There are only a few things I can think of that may be worthy.
- In 6th grade I cut my finger off. Got slammed in a door, and as I yanked my hand out and shook it the fingertip came off. That pain was only temporary though. Matter of fact I didn’t cry until they had to put an IV in my arm (I am a wuss with needles).
- I roll my ankle quite often. This might be the worst pain I feel. Having a busted foot is no fun, especially when you realize how much movement your foot is actually capable of at that joint. Trying to get sleep the first few nights is horrible because any sudden movement as your body naturally relaxes shoots pain all up and down your leg.
- Finally I got undercut one time playing basketball and landed on my back/neck. Ended up with a nice little stinger and bruised my tailbone too. Going from a seated position to a standing position or vice versa took a good 5 minutes and lots of focus. Needless to say, restroom trips became quite comical. Sleeping was tough too.
