If you think hip-hop is “all” about that or that is all it has to offer it terms of content, then I think you don’t know much of the genre or have never taken the time to listen to any hip-hop outside of the trash that people put on the radio. Which is fine, I don’t expect everybody to listen to the genre or like it, but just know not all hip-hop is the ignorant borderline offensive trash played on the radio and in clubs. A lot of it has actual messages and substance.
That would be like me saying all country music is about inbred hillbillies drinking beer in their pickup trucks while smoking Marlboro reds, or that all heavy metal is a bunch of intelligible screaming nonsense with no meaning or emotion behind it…a false uniformed generalization.

when i go to bars or to a night club…thats all they play. thats what people hear in my area. that is what is representing the entire genre for me where i am residing in. we’re a party type area. music with substance and messages are not played because it is not mainstream. it is not what you hear on the radio. you’re preaching to the choir on there being various forms of hip hop. there is various forms of everything. i couldve articulated my post better that i will admit, but i wont take back what i said or apologize for it.
@FengShuiEnergy if mick gordon was the sole cause for orchid not getting her leotard back from KI2 then i say hes a damned fool as well regardless of how talented he is. it makes me say and think “grow up”. its a videogame. be more concerned about how women carry themselves in a real world social setting. there are time and places for where they must dress appropriately, and places where they can walk around in more revealing attire. as for Sadira, i recall there being no complaints unless it was before my arrival to the original DH forums in early 2014.

That comment in your post I quoted (to me) implied that you believed that is what all hip-hop is and all it has to offer, it would seem I was mistaken. You are correct though, that IS what represents the genre and is played mostly but I would also like to add that it is played because that is apparently what most people want to hear, at least in a party/club setting.
its all good man, i shouldve been more clear with what i was trying to say! thats all, just a case of mistaken beliefs. but yes, i like the other kinds of hip hop that goes beyond the norm of what we hear. like Deltron 3030, thats an awesome album for me to relax with. “Mastermind” is my fav track off that one and “Proto Culture” since he talks about gaming in that one lol
