When he’s up against a Sadira, apparently ![]()
@WeddedOx1116077, when can you fight?
Maybe I’m not going to be able until weekend, but I may be able to do it sooner
What’s your timezone?
@Dayv0 I can fight tonight and late tomorrow night. My time zone is central. When can you fight?
I don’t know if I will be able today or tomorrow. I’m from Spain, so timezones are an issue.
I could go on all the weekend, but if I can today, let’s try it
At what time exactly could you be up?
@WrathOfFulgore, I recorded my matches against @CoIyn, but the last one had lag issues, so I’m only going to put a 2-1. The last match replay(Aganos vs Sabrewulf) is ruined, unfortunately
I see. I could play anywhere from 6-9 today central. So I think that’s 1-4 for you? As for the weekend it would be late Sunday night for me that would work.
During the week, I could fight from 14:00 to 17:00 central time aprox.
@WrathOfFulgore I’ll renig on my request to send me to losers. i’ll just wait it out, since i tried to set up the match first.
Can I still sign up
I’m in EST.
Unfortunately, i have to leave at that exact time for class on Tuesday (that’d be 1:30 for me), but Wednesday should be fine!
Not to be this way, but I think there’s a better than 90% chance @ItzTymeToDul would beat @PVXenoraptor if they fought. I know it’s tough to do it this way but I think it’s kind of tough to send great players down to losers to kick the ■■■■ out of people who might otherwise be able to at least lose competetive matches. Just sayin’…
Its just awkward since @PVXenoraptor can only play on weekends and last weekend he was busy.
I’m with Andy on this one. If one of the players has super limited availability, then I think that’s the player who should forfeit if it comes to that. If he only has weekend availability and wasn’t available on the only weekend during the tournament period, then it should be his loss I’d think. ![]()
ANDY STOP. that is not nice and has nothing to do with us not playing.
I don’t know if this is getting lost in translation, but this is pretty much how I intend to judge things if it comes to that. But I don’t intend to call anything until the week’s up (tournament week, not calendar week), so if for some reason @ItzTymeToDul and @PVXenoraptor manage to play, great. If not, we’ll find out Friday.
…unless someone tells me they want to forefit early. It’s happened before.
…not that I want anyone to forefit. I’d rather see them play myself.
I work till 17:00 on the weekday, so that would be rather difficult for me. @Dayv0
What about Friday?
I’ll be out of town Friday.
Im not sure why it’s not nice. I’m not trying to be unkind, or suggesting that he is ducking you. There’s no insult intended or implied. Maybe it just came across that way because I wrote it in a hurry on the train.
But if we’re going to flip a coin I’m not sure it’s fair to the folks in losers to send the obviously better player down to eliminate them.
Maybe that’s not nice. But if I’m matched up with you or @STORM179 or @Dayv0 or @SonicDolphin117 and for whatever reason we just can’t schedule our fight I’m not going to pretend I might have won. I’m going to hop down to the losers bracket and see how I do against the next opponent. I mean, those matches aren’t going to be close and it’s a bit absurd to pretend they are going to be - if we aren’t able to actually play them.
Anyway it’s a moot point since @WrathOfFulgore is looking at the balance of availability and it looks like the result will be the same.
I get what you’re saying with the hypotheticals, but by that reasoning if you were at an offline double elimination, couldn’t the same technically happen? I mean if a player thought he’d be better off plowing through the loser’s bracket for whatever reason, couldn’t he pretty much just duck into the bathroom during his first match and show up afterwards? or even simpler, just throw the fight? I mean I really don’t see how resigning yourself to the loser’s bracket would have any benefit for anyone.
Unless 2 or 3 of the better players team up on purpose to clear out all the scrubs just to be a$$holes
It’s not about gaming anything for advantage. And it’s kind of specific to a fight that the players are responsible for scheduling themselves. At an offline event you DQ anyone who isn’t there even if you have to DQ both of them.
Maybe I’m not communicating it well, or maybe I’m just the only one who feels this way. But to me it just seems obvious.
