I remember when I was young and free 
I can’t do that. I’d like it he could grow from the match. Helps figure out better gameplan for the future.

My big brother never let me win in Super Smash Bros… 
Haha yeah me and my big bro played smackdown vs raw and I could not win. He helped me out a lot by letting me win. It builds my self confidence. So when he REALLY beat me I gained pride in my previous victories. This motivated me to learn and grow. That’s how it always forms.

Also, I’ve been kinda keeping quiet about what he’s capable of to an extent…I thought the element of surprise might be at the very least fun to watch.
But to comment on what you and @KevBones10 have been talking about, I don’t ever recall letting him win…IIRC I went easy on him for a little while, but that didn’t last very long. But you really don’t have to let them win exactly to boost their confidence…I mean I’m sure it depends on the person…positive reinforcement sure, but it doesn’t necessarily come on the form of a free win. If that’s your M.O. that’s fine, I’m just saying I really didn’t, and you can see the results…er…you will after I upload the match, except for Dul, he already lived it.

Lol haha is cool. I only meant that giving them the “taste” of victory. Then giving them the real challenge, is what made me get Better. If I know that I was satisfied winning before, now that I can’t, in my mind it made me think “what do I need to do to win again”. It’s all apples and oranges really but that’s just sharing my experience

Nope. He doesn’t play many fighting games now since I actually practice lol. He used to beat me in street fighter because I was just a little kid. And on his words, “i would probably enjoy KI more if you weren’t good at it”.

In all honesty I wish my brother played KI. Back on the SNES I’d practice & practice & practice and usually he’d walk in and within a round or 2 I couldn’t touch him. I’ve tried to get him to play this KI, but he’s been slavishly faithful to Nintendo and has become a smug “kid-friendly only” over-protective type of dad that…well let’s just say my 11-year-old niece tends to portray a maturity level similar to my 4-year-old, if that tells you anything.
But now…I really think a match up with him would just be sad. I’ve gotten good enough I’d beat him so badly it wouldn’t be fun at all, just awkward and depressing. Yup, that ship has sailed unfortunately.
…Anyway, to change subjects to something not-so-depressing, here’s @Thunderb3E & @ItzTymeToDul’s match:

I have a friend like that, who started getting into fighting games. But instead of playing a game I already knew how to play, we settled on a game we haven’t played.
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. We learned together (which was cool) and I solidified his growing love for fighting games.
You should see us play, we are near equals in that game. It’s like watching Saitama fight himself lol

Yeah, I can’t say he hasn’t had lots of practice on me getting that move down pat. He tends to catch me with it a lot more than what I’m willing to admit, sadly… lol
