Yeah, I defeated Rash, but only because he didn’t know what to do if I didn’t just sit there and take his spam. It was way too close though. On the very first wrecking ball I just blocked and then did c.HP and knocked down his follow up. But if he pushed me into the corner on block he crossed me up and I couldn’t antiair. So I was “labbing” on the go since I rarely play Glacius against Rash. Didn’t come up with anything consistently effective once the wrecking ball hits the block, but was able to do some puddle avoidance, and jump kick him before he could get the ball out etc. because he just wasn’t that good. That’s probably unfair, he didn’t seem to have much experience with anything other than wrecking ball-crossup-jab combo or throw mixup.
I know we’ve had whole threads on this but Rash’s armored, in air ball that pushes you to the corner leading to an automatic cross up that can’t be antiaired by much of the cast is pretty degenerate. I never see a Rash player online do anything else. I recognize that EVO players know how to beat this but that doesn’t make it seem like less of an issue to me…
@developers. IT’S TOO BAD THERES NO ONLINE PRACTICE MODE THAT WOULD LET SOMEONE HELP ME LAB UP THIS SITUATION MORE EASILY. Just putting that out there. Again…
I could not agree more. Never understood why this move needs armor. And yes in the corner the down HP sometimes doesn’t connect.
Its very risky to try becasue its so inconsistent depending on the height of the Ball and the timing of the follow up.
Like I said i just try to avoid letting him connect with the ball at all costs. I have no idea how that works for Glacius, but if you have a forward traveling move that can get you across and under the air Ball…it works for me.
Glacius’s cold shoulder is really tall so it’s not going to get under the wrecking ball and because it’s a special it will lose to armor. Likewise his puddle punch gets stuffed. His c.HP doesn’t seem to get high enough to hit it though - although without lab time against a real Rash player I don’t know if I really got this right.
I don’t know why the wrecking ball needs the armor, although clearly they don’t want it to trade with any moves in the air. I know I need to lab all this, but it’s way easier to just pick Tusk anytime I see Rash…
This flat out doesn’t work when I do it. c.HP gets hit by his crossup in the corner. And if I do his HPP it doesn’t seem to track.
I admit that I’m a pretty basic player but simple stuff doesn’t usually give me trouble like this and, frankly, if it wasn’t working for most Rash players they wouldn’t ALL be doing it. So it’s either ridiculously tight timing or something’s wrong.
Maybe I will try to post the replay if I ever escape this visa office.
I’m lost on this one. Because you want to travel again? Lol, DM me and we can chat. Rest assured there’s a hundred and fifty people in here and not one of them is happy to be here… woe is me.
I’m fairly certain he does. I will have to go home and pull the video. Stay tuned. In any event I tried c.HP a lot and got stuffed. So I’m willing to look at it but all you guys always say “what, just c.HP it?” And I’m just not so terrible at the game that I can’t hit down HP… either the timing is tight AF or it just doesn’t work.
Yeah, in a SFV battle lounge you can set it to allow character picks - but it’s off by default so you need to toggle it. But you can set it to do FT(#) before going back to character select. So the options are good if you can manage to deal with their weird choices for default and bizarre menu layout…
