I actually tried finding the old patch notes for S2 and could barely find any.
S2 launch Maya’s DPs were all invincible. The change that made light be invincible for n-1 frames (and heavy not at all, etc) happened well into S2.

The problem being, I link to a bunch of forum posts on the OLD forums, which are now gone. So the patch notes themselves will be hard to find, but I do summarize each patch’s major changes here. Better than nothing I guess.
I should try and get the patch notes from the devs and host them on my own server so they are permanently archived. I’m sure they still have them kicking around somewhere.
Hm. I feel like I remember Keits arguing with people in an early chat or something about how they were punishable, and people needed to get their meaty setups right. Ah well - no issues being wrong.
According to my historys2 page, Maya’s DPs were changed during the Riptor patch in December 2014. So she had L, M, H, Shadow invincible DPs from launch in October, through the Kan-Ra update in November, up to the Riptor one. Those were soooome two months.
Those are quite the changes. Interesting, Seems TJ and maya were changed quite alot during the early stages of S2. And Kan-Ra wasn’t really touched that badly for the most part. ARIA just had bug fixes throughout S2. Cinder also some changes.
Now going back to eyedol…almost seems counter productive they went back to the start of S2 stuff with him. Really odd.
I love that this thread is sort of a community hangout and I would like people to keep using it as such. But can people not make it the “rub it in when I beat you” or “here’s where I pour out my salty rants” thread. That’s sort of the opposite of the intention with GGs.

Believe it or not, Kan-Ra lost a lot of stuff between launch and the end of S2. He was a much worse character by the end.
Some of the stuff they took away from him included hitboxes and recovery on Sandsplosion (so it was easier to punish), a glitch that made all his setups hard knockdowns if he whiffed a button so he could set play you every time he touched you, timer on shadow scarab was like 1.5x as long, jump HK was unbreakable so it lead to crazy damage, and a bunch of other things I’m forgetting now.
Well that’s all in the past now. Sounds like kan-ra was glitchy.

Yeah, Kan was something else at launch, and not all of it was glitches or anything like that. He just had a ton of options, and wasn’t really punishable on any of it. His command grabs had less noticeable start up animations and quite a bit less recovery for instance, sand spike built a ton of meter on each hit, etc.
IG actually nerfed him repeatedly after his launch, but no one had really unlocked him to abuse a lot of the dirt that he would have had.
Almost sounds like a “in beta test” then.

Today is the last day I’m going to be home before I head off to the beach for a week. I’ll still be able to play with you guys, but the internet connection will be worse and I’ll have much less free time.

@hyperpyro12345 GG, from GG! Work on your defense more (especially on wakeup), as well as using manuals, and you will go far. Your mixups and breaks are already on point, though, so keep up the good work!
