F’ yeah!
If anyone could tell me Who did Guile’s SFV theme, i would really appreciate it. I cant find it.
It sounds like Joe Satriani’s ~90’s ~'00’s guitar tone, being played by IDK who, with the style of Crush 40 stage music.
honestly Guile is single handedly heralding hope for the future of this franchise
How so?
…
Edit: Also, I just found out about this.
I had no idea Guile could take his aviators on and off in SSF4. Would be a neat feature to keep in SFV.
Showcase of Guile’s gameplay:
Edit:
Noticed this…

I’ve always thought Guile was a handsome guy, even with his low Cro Magnum eyebrows… but this is mildly disturbing. XD
Well, at least he actually looks like Guile. Unlike Ken who looks like ■■■■ knows what…
True, they really messed up Ken’s face. Too bad, because I actually like Ken.
Also, and I hate to pick on this again, but watching the video @anon39655210 posted which shows a lot of Guile’s new “hold down forward and creep along the ground so you can hold your flash kick charge!” move just looks ridiculous. It seems insane and to me it just highlights how archaic and ridiculous the “charge” control scheme is.
I have played SF since 1992, and I love the game and all of it’s history and all of it’s many versions. But c’mon. Let’s be bold here and actually ask ourselves why we need this bit of silliness.
I’m no fan of charge characters, but I do know that there are people who do like them and that playstyle. From what I understand, charge characters are supposedly more defensive and strategic to use than motion characters, which are more meant for rushdown.
I prefer the rushdown playstyle personally, but hey, if there are people who enjoy charge characters, then I’m glad they have characters available to them with that playstyle. It works in Street Fighter, but it wouldn’t work with the fast gameplay in Killer Instinct.
I understand all that. Guile was god tier in SF2. If he got the life lead there was no way to get in on his turtle. That game had no dash so it was nearly impossible to bait out a whiff on flashkick. His flashkick needed to be a charge in that game because it was unbelievable good. For proof, just try to play the computer - which in those days certainly didn’t follow the charge rules.
But here is my problem with charges in SF - even though I agree they are way less problematic in that game’s pacing than in something like KI.
-
Execution barrier - the move is hard to do and hard to do as part of a combo for newcomers to the game. But it’s not a strategic issue, it’s just an execution issue. So, you have to develop the non-transferable skill of holding down as soon as you jump (for example) in order to charge it up in case you land a jump kick and can then string it into a flash kick.
-
Balance through execution barrier is a bad idea - in SF 2, a lot of the moves were intended to be balanced through difficulty. Flash Kick was one. The move is super - but it’s balanced because you need to charge it. But in this day and age, balance through execution doesn’t work. Most experienced players can do this things, and it just serves to block out new players for no good reason.
-
Charge moves compound the tendency of people in the FGC to mix up “good at execution” with “good at the game.” You are guaranteed to run into people who think that their ability to hold DB after jump, hit a couple of punches and then link in a FlashKick makes them “good” at SFV. But this is really just a pointless distraction. It’s like playing chords on guitar. Yes, you can’t be a good guitar player if you can’t play chords. But playing chords doesn’t make you a musician.
The main reason I don’t use charge characters.
When is he being released?
I dont play SFV, but i HAVE to know who made his theme, and it looks like im only going to find out when they release him.
No release date has been confirmed yet.
I see he’s got tusks death stareand his idle stance looks super awkward.
Is Guile broken?..
Moral of the story: don’t get hit by a Guile jump-in when he’s got a boom following him and a full V-gauge.
You say this so casually, but in a real match, I’m sure if you see this exact situation, you won’t know what to do and will, instead, take your hands off the controller and curl up in a fetal position.
(Cool combo though)
Sounds legit.
(curls up in Fetal Position just watching the video)
