Soul Calibur 6

I have a problem.

But mostly gift purposes.

Well, it’s sweet of you to buy the game for others like that. And cool that you support the game like that as well.

Soul Calibur VI is looking good. Now all I need is aeon to show up and it will be the best game ever. But currently after playing the game seems to be better than SC-V. Depsite that I still think Aeon is needed.

This was definitely true. I did this for my time on Sunday and it was infinitely better. To be frank, I have not noticed much real correlation between the bars displayed and the actual performance in most games.

I noticed that the characters had at least some different moves. Which is refreshing compared to many games (ahem, Tekken). I wasn’t having all that much trouble with guard break though. It is forward plus guard. Maybe you hit the button a little early?

Yeah - he has trouble with the quicker characters, which makes sense. Some of his A+B moves are actually his fastest, together with a few of his kick pokes. But in general you have to do things like guard break and look for big openings. He’s slow. Which is probably fair since he hits like a truck and has massive range. But he’s always been a lower tier character than Nightmare and that looks to be the case here as well.

Like you, I’m no pro player. But Soul Calibur is not known for being the most balanced game out there.

This news STILL doesn’t bother me. Though from the looks of it it looks like I won’t be able to make my lizardman’s snake outfit complete yet. That’s okay I know the other stuff will be either be DLC or Unlockable.

Also It will be good thing that I will remember what I added to my Libra of soul Character.

So there is about 356 pieces in soul calibur VI (correct me if I’m wrong) and there is a fewer than that.

Guard impact is 6G. Reversal edge is A+B I think, or right bumper. Critical edge is A+B+K (RT on controller), and Soul Charge is Back+A+B+K.

May be flubbing the button combinations a bit, as was playing on hitbox and using the macros there.

As the one on the receiving end, he seemed pretty fast to me. Against really good players, I felt like I had very few options against his offense.

Then again, I was playing the character with the shortest range in the game. He’s still no Nightmare too

So did I. Any Siegfried I encountered was a beast and bested my ivy. I was better against nightmare, and I’d say ivy us one of the best zoners/ keep away & borderline OP in the right hands.

Once each character is known for their strengths, it’s hard to overcome

Xianghua for instance, has pressure moves and launcher follow ups combined with nasty sidestep LAUNCHERS I had to fight to get that b off of me

I plan to practice a lot and learn each character so I’m good against them
There’s nothing else worth playing right now that’s so rewarding

I’d take this Debbie downer fair weather speculation monger with a grain of salt.
Wait until you get the game.

He knows no more than we do- interviews could say so, but what is better, great game play, or 600 costume pieces.

With the object module, you can create anything.

What I’ve seen looks amazing.
They literally give you choices to assign script to your characters.
I’m sure even with just the costume pieces from the default characters, there is a plethora of opportunity.
Remember the first character creation shots?

Oh of course I think the game is gonna be good. Besides I know eventually I’ll be able to complete the character. It’s not a major concern. Once I get the game I’ll know for sure. Trust me, I’m not at all worried. The costume parts I need for my lizardman will be DLC or unlockable. Either way I win.

That seems…excessive

Oh, I absolutely understand he’s likely to be a slower character, and for good reason. With the limited time I was able to play (and without having any access to practice modes or move lists) he just felt very slow, and I didn’t find a lot of solid strings. His moves had a lot of startup, and I was having trouble firing a lot of them off because faster characters would simply poke me out of it almost on reaction. It felt like once a fast character like Talim or Tira got in close, it was very difficult to find a space to press a button myself, but whether I was close or at range, most of my attacks could be blocked or avoided fairly simply. Again, when I could get a mixup or string going, it dealt a lot of damage and felt great! I just need more experience and practice in order to understand how to make that happen.

Blocking felt troublesome too, but that’s just a general lack of familiarity and understanding on my part. Crouch blocks not blocking mid attacks is a stated mechanic, but isn’t one I’m used to, so I know I was crouch blocking at times when I shouldn’t have. That, and understanding what things can or cannot be blocked, as well as a better knowledge of the combo system and timing will be helpful once I’ve had more access to the game.

Don’t think I’m saying Sieg sucks, or needs to be a lot faster than he is - I just don’t have enough knowledge or information to work with as of yet.

As I said above, the frustration was more with how long some moves felt they took to start up, allowing me to be poked out of them or blocked on reaction. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on the full game so I can get timing and strategy worked out better!

This is definitely true. Some of it you will figure out and some of it is just the way the character is.

Exactly! I’m just not a skilled enough fighting game player to pick up on that stuff simply on my own. I need to learn with others, or at least have movelists and practice modes to putz around in for a while. I still had a lot of fun with the beta though!

In my SoulCalibur experience, the quicker faster moves are the horizontal slashes x, the vertical moves are slower, triangle, and the A+B moves even riskier, yet obviously deal more damage

Sidestep moves and circle specials deal most damage outside of guard break/ criticals

I hve this to say.

-Inferno sounds menacing.
-He has a move that hurts really bad (one more hard head would kill her)
-He ain’t the mimic character but he wields the sword like Nightmare while also having one of Cervantes’s moves

The only thing we don’t know is his placement in the character select screen.
