There are so many broken ways to beat him if all you want is the stage. Hisako’s command grab loop with Snake is one I favor a lot, plus if he’s got you at a distance, he’ll eventually try to come at you from above and you can catch-counter that right back into the loop. Aganos with Fractured Ward can absolutely bully him, even Snake can cash out huge damage with walls.
Use the 25% less damage taken and 25% more damage done buffs for the fight always, hurts a lot less even with Gargos’ damage buffs on.
Oh also, you need to learn that sometimes your turn to attack is over and you need to block a few attacks until he does something risky.

I finally beat him on challenging.
It wasn’t easy though, I had to grind normal many times to get killer items and good relics as well as the shadow lords item Gargos can drop. With all of that I hit challenging, almost lost to a Fulgore on day one… So I decided to deploy as much as I could until the Omens popped up. I used everything I had, the best of the best and managed to kill all four Omens. I got to Gargos and used the Shadow Lord item as well as every top-notch item I had expecting a battle and I obliterated him with my first character and main Glacius. I didn’t even give him a chance, I destroyed him, utterly ravaged his essence.
You might think this story is a change of opinion for me about this difficulty of Shadow Lords but it isn’t. The AI is stupidly overpowered but I suppose that’s what the devs intended it to be, impossible unless you either A) have godlike skill or B) suck it up on normal long enough to get cheap items so you can cheese the AI. Either way it doesn’t really make the mode fun to play when the AI is that crazy, regardless of if you have the time or money to get the good gear.

look i cant do that cause he dosent give me a opening and he blocks nearly all of my moves
second i dont want to go thourgh the mode again i just want the astral plane stage

Can you beat him on normal? Because if you can then you can get the item i spoke of that makes challenging Gargos easy. Normally i’d have stood no chance but the items I had turned me into an invincible killing machine.

Meh i just use The Pinnacle as Gargos stage

It’s hard because you make it hard. Just play on normal and grind the artifacts, guardians, etc. and get the Shadow Lords item. Then go to challenging and beat all the Omens to weaken Gargos. Use the Shadow Lords item and beat him. The stage is a reward. If you want the stage, beat Shadow Lords. Decide if Shadow Lords is worth the Astral Plane. If it isn’t, move on. If it is, get the stage. Ranting here won’t magically give you the stage.

Man I feel bad for people struggling with this mode most of my fights I don’t even use guardians or artifacts.
Pretty much.
If you play on Normal for a while, you’ll amass some items that will help you beat Gargos on Challenging.
- Shadow Lord
- Wulf Heart
- Epic and Killer Guardians
- MKIII damage and Defense buffs
- Ceremonial Daggers
Plus whatever other items you like, and/or whatever new items they just added that you like.
Just realize that Gargos in SL isn’t meant to be fair, so trying to fight him fairly is just setting yourself up for heartache. If that is what you are into, by all means go for it! But if you want to just win, you’ll need to plan ahead, grind for the necessary items, and play cheaply.

I think you should record your fight, so we can see what you are doing wrong, and help you from there. It’s hard to help through text, if we can’t see what you do during Gargos.

i didnt record it but i lost i have jago glacius and kim wu but gargos is too powerful
