Shadow Lords Mode

U could be right. As long as it includes cutscenes or narrative based on the character(s) u select it will be cool but somehow i dont see that happening with this mode

I’m liking that “Team Sp00ky” set you’ve got there… lol

Gotta throw Mira in there or she’ll feel insecure

Hopefully I should be able to get the game by the time Shadow Lords is out. Would like to join the bandwagon haha

I hope so too, RTA!

This could be their way of getting around the problem of inconsistency regarding story mode for the different seasons. I am hoping that issue will be in some way recitified before the game is finally complete.

Plenty of room left on this bandwagon!

If shadow lords uses character shadows, which I hope it does. Will we be able to have more than the current max of two shadow characters? I have high doubts that a formidable team will just have two shadows.

It’s all speculation at this point. But whether it uses peoples shadows or not, I hope we get some more shadow slots down the line.

Does anyone know how early is early access? It was a promised perk for those who got the season 3 ultra combo breaker deal? Theres not alot of time left for Mira to be released on time and even less time to give her out early to those who got the primo deal.

If the new story mode uses Shadows, I will be a happy, HAPPY man. The shadows feature (IMO) may be the best thing to come to FGs in a long time.

I doubt that this will happen…not because I don’t want it to, but because I see no reason for the inclusion of shadows in the Shadow Lords mode to be indicative of an increase our shadow count.

I believe the team aspect of the mode is just in regards to who we pick, not necessarily who our opponents are. I don’t think it would be that tough to just string together fights with different people’s Shadows.

You will get access a week or so earlier than people without ultra.

I doubt Shadow Lords will use Shadows, my reason being is that if this is a SINGLE PLAYER MODE, that means it will be useable offline, and if thats the case, then it shouldnt use Shadows because if being played offline theres no way Shadow Lords could retrieve Shadow data from other players

Not entirely true.

I don’t see why the game’s standard AI (or randomly generated Shadows) couldn’t be programmed to take over in case you are completely offline or lose connection while playing the game, but I also know nothing about programming a game.

Shadows is a great feature, and I think it would be really disappointing if they don’t make full use of it for Shadow Lords. Plus it gives you another really good reason to work on your Shadows.

Well if you’re playing offline I would think that the shadow AIs would be replaced with regular bots instead.

I’m actually kind if hoping shadow mode and the ‘new multiplayer’ mode that ties into it are actually team battles. Swapping characaters in and out of a fight would add soooo many levels of strategy and craziness to KI.

I get your sentiment, but KI is an online game. NOBODY playing KI doesn’t have access to an online connection, so that is something that the Devs can count on being there. I get wanting to have single-player content be available offline, but at the same time if the Shadow Lords mode doesn’t use Shadows, they are just missing a HUGE opportunity there.

I’ll be extremely sad if they don’t use Shadows AI, because I will be very unlikely to even open the mode if they don’t. I have no interest in playing against standard fighting game AI. You aren’t even playing Killer Instinct when you do.

But I’ll be even more sad because it would seem to mean they don’t believe in Shadows mode. It’s not perfect but it’s 10x better than playing broken, dumb regular AI.

As for concerns about offline vs online play, there are tons of ways to address this, including slipping in regular AI if you they can’t get access to their servers.

I’m really hoping this isn’t a concern, though, and they fully integrate Shadows AI into Shadow Lords.

Yeah, I agree with you and @xSkeletalx on this, that in the case that you can’t access online for some reason, that standard AI be used, or pre-downloaded Shadows or something.

You are right that playing the standard AI is pointless, not just KI, but all FGs, which is why I regard the Shadow Lab as such a leap forward for FGs. Done right, and implemented right, Shadows potentially could more than double the “player” count in KI. Hell, I bet you could randomly match up some of the higher level shadows with players in exhibition, and many would never be able to tell the difference.

I would be really surprised, to be honest, if they didn’t use shadow AI in this mode. If they can download deviates for Forza surely they can handle this even if you are playing offline.
