Shadow Counters

You know how at the start of S3 everyone was supposed to have an 8 frame shadow counter? Well…I don’t think that’s the case.I’m in the process of looking through the cast right now and so far arbiter has a SC faster then 8 frames.

@TheKeits @Delriach

Any insight on this one? I’m sure it’s a bug. Or maybe it’s intentional. I ask the masters.

Alright so I just went through the whole cast with this.

I tested this theory with Sadira’s Shadow blade demon as it kinda tinkers on the bordeline of being lightning fast (like ARIA’s Shadow explosive arc or Jago’s shadow windkcik) and super slow (jago’s shaodw laser sword, spinal’s shadow soul sword)

Now outside of a few characters. So what normally happens if you SC her SBD on say…the 2nd hit? You’ll either trade or lose. Except for 3 cases.

Here’s a chart to see who wins and loses:

Lose
Kim (Her is the easiest case since kim’s Sc is the only one that has a projectile hitbox so she can basically be excused really)
Tusk
Riptor
Gargos
Raam
Aganos (with certain chunk levels the chunks will be bypassed and he will be hit)
Shago
Omen

both omen and shago make sense in this scenario since their SC hitboxes sail right under sadira so they could also be excused here

Trade

Everyone else

Win

Arbiter
Eyedol (warrior stance only)
Thunder (only wins due to the armor on shadow triple ax he however loses damage on his Sc for whatever reason though)

So only 2 (3 if you really want to count thunder) actually beat out sadira’s SBD. How is this possible if all SC’s were made 8 frames? Shouldn’t they be trading at best?
