it is all subjective really but some are pretty genuine
for example the Third strike tier list is pretty much fact with Yun, Chun-Li, Makoto and Ken at the top…While Hugo, Q, Twelve and Sean are at the bottom
another pretty accurate one is CVS2 with Sakura, M. Bison (Dictator), Sagat and Blanka are clearly the best
Since season 3 is new its too early but honestly I think even the season 1 tier list was very accurate
Being
Top: Wulf, Sadira
High: Jago, Fulgore, Glacius
Mid: Thunder, Spinal, Orchid
Oh Thanks guys, I’m a bit new to the same, what is the current tier list S1/S2 then? and i think it was my mistake to not put that clearly lol i was asking the current tier S1/2…3
Only if a game is balanced. lol Otherwise there would be no rankings. But, those lists are mostly made from votes or match results if available. So, it’s more like who’s the most hated and popular characters/most used.
Top to bottom, don’t care about spelling
Top Tier
Sadira
Shadow Jago
Tusk
Kim-Wu
Arbiter
Rash
Jago
Kan-Ra
Omen
Glacius
ARIA
mid tier
Spinal
Fulgore
Cinder
Hisako
Aganos
TJ Combo
bottom tier
Maya
Saberwulf
Orchid
Thunder
Riptor
Bottom Tier Thunder!? Nooooo way
It doesn’t mean some people aren’t spectacular using him but the average player is not. He doesn’t do a ton of damage, he has a hard time against a lot of other characters, etc…
Hmm you know actually I agree with the list.
Pretty good but I would put fulgore and spinal in the top tier bracket (especially fulgore)
S tier: good reads
A tier: good spacing
B tier: good breakers
C tier: good resource management
F tier: complaining about tusk

Asking for a tier list for any of be seasons is extremely difficult. KI and IG did a remarkable job at balance. Throughout the tournament scene, all characters have been used to an advanced degree.
Unlike other fighters Super Smash 4, SFV, and various popular fighters. We see high tier characters dominate their tournaments. Like Rosalina and Luma or bayonetta in Smash: Chun and Nash in SFV.
That’s why KI is an adaptable and competitive fighter, due to its balance where every character has the tools to be a tournament winner.
Not really…Season 1 had mainly Wulf and Sadira at high level
Season 2 mainly was spinal, Kan-ra and Sadira (fuglore at the very end)…also it is not completely balanced if you had match ups like Kan-ra vs Orchid or Fulgore vs Aganos or Spinal vs Omen
With SF5 Nash is only considered good because Infiltration plays him, Chun is really good but not dominating ( but to be honest people who play characters like Nash, Ryu, Ken, Karin and Chun bore me…I like the Giefs like Snake eyes or the Bison players like Problem X or Moons)

Awesome points, dude. I retract a few of my statements, I forgot how much of a threat Spinal was when he was first released and how MyGod and PaulB used Wulf for nearly all of S1 S2 due to their damage output and easy ways to get in.
I will give KI credit that there is a more diverse use of characters at high level play than say Street fighter 4 and 5
I love SF4 and 5 but in SF4 high level play was Shoto-character, Yun, Seth or Elena out of 44 people (despite evo 2015 being more diverse with Guile and Juri)
SF5 is Chun-li, Nash and Shoto-Characters (mainly seen by players like Infiltration or Daigo)…
This is why those who play characters like Zangief, F.A.N.G, Bison or Mika stand out more to me (for example Snake eyez, Problem X and Moons, Sonic Fox and Luffy)
Riptor bottom tier seriously? She has good mix ups. Kan-Ra top tier are you for real? He’s awful to play with cause he’s weak in almost everything.

I can imagine there is still going to be a lot of differing opinion on the subject of tier placement at this point, so how about I ask two questions here. Firstly, what do you think is the gap between the characters? There’s obviously going to be a top and bottom tier, but what matters is the gap, so to be specific, can any character compete at a reasonably high level without running into pretty unwinable circumstances. The second question I have is what’s people’s opinion on rash, since I play him, and how many people play him? I’m relatively new to this game and I’m interested in how people feel about him.

Orchid still bottom tier after these buffs?
LOOOOL you should see Street fighter 5 in terms of tier lists
it is all over the place XD
If people are interested to know the general consensus on tiers for the OTHER seasons, there were like this:
S1: Jago, Sabrewulf, and Sadira were, in some order, the unanimous top 3 in the game. Orchid was probably the weakest character.
S2: A lot harder to say, since the game’s balance was a lot tighter and there were more characters. Most players, however, agree that Fulgore was either the best character or among the best, but was difficult enough to play in practice that getting results with him was not free. Other characters very often placed in top 5 were Kan-Ra, Spinal, Sabrewulf, Jago. On the edge of top 5 were probably Aria, Sadira, Maya. The balance was tight enough that pretty much all characters could compete and do damage in tournaments, though.
S3: Who knows. I think there are a lot of super strong characters in this game. IMO, the early frontrunners to watch out for are Jago, Rash, Orchid, Fulgore, Omen, Glacius, and Cinder, just to throw names out there. But you can probably add almost any character to this list, so don’t quote me as saying these are the best characters in the game and your character is bad. Maybe I should just remove that list so nobody does that? … hmmm… nah, I’m sure it won’t happen.
