So I already bought the Season 2 pack and Sabrewulf on sale with the gold membership to prepare for launch on the PC and am confused about a few things.
The Season 3 pack seems a little odd to me since the KI gold currency doesn’t seem to have very much use when you gain the colors and costumes included in the pack and the VIP XP boost is permanent and thus doesn’t need to be bought. Am I missing something here or would this only be used on the Combo Breaker season 1 pack in my case?
It’s looking like premium and retro accessories are all going to cost KI gold this time around.
If thats the case, they just continue to shoot themselves in the foot.

Taken from the store page and says I get the retro costumes as well as accessory sets but I won’t get all of them then?
They aren’t exactly forthcoming with details, despite launch being less then 2 weeks away. But as they say STAY TUNED 
It’s impossible to say that without knowing what KI Gold only accessories throughout the season are going to cost. Spending $40 on digital currency for in-game accessories very likely gets you quite a bit - and we get that for free.
Its not impossible, they are charging KI gold for accessories that were included for free in season 1 and 2 ultra. And its a bad thing. It seems like you always argue me, because somehow you think your opinion, YES OPINION is right.
What difference does it make if they give you KI gold to buy accessories or the accessories come with Ultra? The end result is the same. Does having to press a few extra buttons to buy them really bother you?It’s also very possible that 18,000 is enough to buy all those accessories plus new ones that are still coming. Plus, I am betting KI gold can be used in the unannounced modes.
Its a way to justify the overpricing of ultra. Thats the difference. Its like “Hey guys, we know this stuff was free before for ultra, but now you have to buy it with KI gold, so we are going to make the pricing seem fair by giving you some of that gold to buy the things that were free before but somehow now we are charging for them as a way to make it look like this price is still fair!” That’s whats being done. I can’t even blame Iron Galaxy either, I have little doubt this was a microsoft move, and not IG. Its a way to make the microtransaction money sell better.

So if premiums are included with Ultra what is the KI gold actually good for then?

As of right now KI Gold is used to buy the following things (Someone can correct me if I am wrong)
Retro Costumes (If you don’t have all 3 ultra seasons)
Accessories.
Borders
Icons
Badges
The only thing that CAN’T be unlocked out of the things I just listed is the retros, but if you already have all 3 ultra seasons, that isn’t much good, everything else an be unlocked just by playing the game.
I was thinking that I will use the 18000 KI Gold to unlock colors 3-8. But, since there’s the chance I will be able to use that Gold on something else (stay tuned, they said) I’ll keep it for the moment.
I’m sure it will have a good use.
The stay tuned is what irks me. Tell us point blank, will gold be used to unlock stuff that ONLY gold can unlock, or is it strictly to unlock the cool stuff faster?
Seems (hope) they dis not anticipate the potential backlash and actually search for a real plu value for those 18k.
Or they Just dont care and we Just pay 40 bucks for grinding stuff we had for free on the first two seasons.
We aren’t paying for anything we got for free with the first 2 ultras, thats a misconception, usually I will bash the price (because it deserves it) HOWEVER, we are getting everything we got with Ultra 1 and 2 besides 8 stages and a classic game.
Pretty sure they’ll be releasing additional content outside of the ultra packs that we’re meant to spend that KI gold on.
Pretty sure isn’t a definite answer, people keep saying that, but the CM said the gold is for unlocking stuff faster, which contradicts that.
If we re talking about characters, i am very fond of the idea!
I bought the Ultra edition just now and will see if they have plans down the road to incorporate new things to spend it on. If they don’t I can just use it to unlock some stuff for season 1 characters down the road.
