TBH, the new Robocop wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Much better than the new Total Recall!
Still not a good film but at least not terrible. I think one of the main problems I’ve noticed with remakes is that somehow Hollywood producers have this notion that if they make the remakes more similar to the books or original formula , it’ll be a better movie
when they don’t seem to realize movies like Willy Wonka vs Johnny Depp in Charlie and the Chocolate factory were less like the book because it allowed Hollywood to put a better style on the story and more interesting than have it be bland to follow it exactly how it was in the book. The CGI is phenomenal in Thr 2017 Power Rangers but the story seems bland but the one in the 90s wasn’t really that good either “even if you weren’t a Power Rangers fan”.
I just watched the first episodes of Power Rangers yesterday, and it’s honestly sad how little story there is to start the show up. A fair description of the plot would be: Here’s a bad guy, here’s a bunch of kids, here’s them finding out they’re super heroes, here’s them doubting it for 3 seconds, here’s them fighting, here’s them powering up, here’s the bad guys powering up, here’s them making their giant robot, here’s the bad guys running away, here’s the high note and quick laugh we’re ending on, end episode…all rattled off nearly that quickly. And despite that my 4-year-old was literally jumping up and down with unbelievable excitement during all the stock footage.
With that aside, I’ve seen that trailer and I must say it looks like it’ll be a fun film to watch.
All-new Power Rangers-themed doughnuts coming to participating Krispy Kreme locations near you:
cool
Just got back from the cinema after watching it with my brother. It’s really good, kind of a slow start but it gets exciting later, really liked the special announcement near the end. Spoiler: Tommy will be in the sequel!
Its 1 of my favorite films this year alongside kong.
Here is now my overall ratings for Saban’s Power Rangers:
4.9/5
9.9/10
99/100
And I HIGHLY recommend this movie too
Spoiler alert: Cameo appearances by Jason David Frank (Original Green Ranger) and Amy Jo Johnson (Original Pink Ranger) in Saban’s Power Rangers
I just finished watching it with my wife and older 2 kids…IMHO it was awesome.
It gave me the feels something fierce.
It had all the right stuff in all the right places. It’s like the writers knew exactly when to be edgy, when to be serious, when to be cornball, when to be awesome, when to show someone eating a doughnut…
I really don’t think they could have made a better Power Rangers movie.
…well, maybe if Goldar appeared sentient and actually had a face and talked out of it. That IMHO would have made it better. But everything else…great!!
I just watched this movie on DVD. I really enjoyed it. Not as cheesy as the original but that’s expected. The build up developed the characters really well(except for Trini imo). Billy was my favorite character. The fight scenes were really awesome. My only complaint about the action was that we didn’t actually see the zords combine.
