Performance inconsistency

As some of you may remember, I am running KI on aged laptop. With lowered resolution I am passing the benchmark.

But sometimes with same settings I do not…

I have GTX 660m and I5-3210m. Most of time I have around 1007 points in benchmark, but when I am unlucky, I have around 780 points. To fix that, I need to reboot computer until everything is back to normal.

This is especially annoying because sometimes game slows heavily when doing shadow moves, and generally it should not occur.

Can someone help me? I use 362 version of drivers (I was using newer ones but game only ran worse so I reverted).

Have you tried alternating Windowed/Fullscreen? Aside from that, there’s nothing I can suggest.

Your GPU is probably just getting old. You could probably get an external GPU, but I’m not sure how good those are, or even how much they cost.

I’m barely passing with an i7-4700 and a GTX 860m with everything turned off or low, and at 1920x1080. I get a score of 1044.

I’d say you have an issue with Ram, either graphics dedicated Ram or overall Ram.

It would explain why rebooting solves your problem, as it clears the virtual memory by closing processes that may be hoarding it.

Try formatting your pc and slapping another stick of Ram on it (if it can be expanded further).

I have 8gb of RAM and 2gb of VRAM. I am not sure but it may be something with drivers, maybe some driver files aint loading properly or something. I keep my system fairly tidy, dont have garbage apps and other processes hogging my memory.

Humm, that’s weird then. Maybe it is something with the drivers? Afraid I can’t help you much further =/
