I want more jago costumes and colors. I want his retro to look more like it does in classic KI or an outright ninja outfit.

I think all original cast characters could use an update to their retro costumes.

So I’d pay to have additional colors or accessories for all characters.

isn’t that called an ultra combo or a stage ultra?

Holy hell there are some unrealistic ideas in here.

Regardless, I hope a community fund is coming soon. Ideally they’d codify it as an annual thing to remove all the uncertainty surrounding it.

I would pay real money for stages. Every character having one would be kind of nice. Also, if it’s going towards growing the community then I’m all for it.

Alright, I’ve seen a hundred of these community fund thread requests, and I have a few thoughts on it.

Now, I’m not particularly against it, but that said, I don’t think this should be some annual custom or newfound tradition. While KI may not be the biggest fish out there, without a doubt, it has caught a lot of new attention now it didn’t have before, both on the consumer scale and the developer one and is influenced a lot of both parties in new ways.

With that said, making this some annual custom I believe sets a precedent other companies will inevitably try to follow. Much like microtransactions, the real deal article of free to play game styles (upon which KI is not modeled), or the first instances of downloadable content, this could very well be looked at as something for other companies to mimic, and possibly twist for their own means.

Anyone who has played Street Fighter knows KI is influencing others now, whether subtly or by any obvious correlation. There’s a reason why the pricing model of the game has worked, why the DLC and microtranactions for this game continue to work without being overreaching, why people continue to support this game and it’s doing well.

The game itself has done well, despite competing in a scene where almost all other competitors are actually AAA in the development department. The community fund last year though, IMO, was more or less an act of faith and good will in which the developers asked us to support the game beyond what they could do on their own at the time, and make tournament events bigger and more worthwhile, and getting good exposure, and in exchange for that support, they gave a big reward.

Now that kind of act isn’t one that should turn into some kind of annual custom. I’m not against it, but let the reasons for it be more noble than “it should be something we do with every new season,” or some sort of marketing scheme. I don’t think IG would have asked their fans for such a favor unless they knew it would truly make the game stand out above others and give it a place it deserves in the FGC, and with all good faith requests, they rewarded faith with something truly unique.

So I guess I’m saying, if IG asks us to do this again, let the reason for it be more noble than making it an annual custom, and let the reward for it match the effort we will put in to support it. I have no doubt any one here wouldn’t give to see the game grow and to see it at EVO as long as what maybe USF4 was, I just don’t think it should degenerate into something we do yearly. I could see something like this easily being twisted into another trend like microtransactions and being misused.

I sort of held a similar philosophy as to why the original Halo 2 dlc was so successful, where the best new content isn’t planned content (Capcom, looking at you), but what’s extended beyond the initial planning of the game, falling outside of whatever expectation there was. Too many companies now “plan” around DLC, which while maybe necessary to financially organize themselves and develop expectations of fiscal soundness, but planned DLC sort of feels cheap a lot now. Chopping out sections of the game and holding them for ransom from the customer. I know KI isn’t guilty of this, but it’s success could quickly be mimicked for something similar, and I think this community funding idea is one that shouldn’t be used lightly.

I agree - I would like to add an additional request:, add new customes, not just accessories.

As I recall, the community fund to make Shago a real boy was near the end of S2 last year. This is just my assumption, but I don’t think they want to open a community fund for something like stages, a character, or whatever when they’re still working on a lot of S3 content. Maybe we’ll see another community fund when S3 is closer to completion.

I would contribute. Stretch goals would be nice too.

My wish is stages for all characters and proper accessories for everyone, Eyedol, tag team mode.

also wondering. If it had an online tournament mode that send you a message when you were the next match to play, I would contribute as much as I could.

This game needs it. The online community for this game is significantly larger than the ppl who go out for live in person games/tournaments.

Really tired of watching a stream of an online tournament just to sit there and wait most of the time for ppl to realize that its their turn to play and get in the lobby.

5 missing character’s stages !!! AND sky stage . So 6 stage pack basically. I’d put 20$ or 30$ or whatever they want on it .

As much as I’d love more stages, I think what makes sense is for them to make an extra character. Stages are just too expensive to do for a community fund. While a new fighter would be great, I don’t think we will ever get a completely brand new fighter for, I don’t think we will ever get that in a community fund. Calling it now, Shadow Orchid will be a thing.

I agree. If they do anything, it should just be DLC. There’s nothing wrong with being willing to pay someone for their efforts, and that’s pretty much what I understand most people are actually wanting to do when they say “community fund”. Tournaments are nice, exposure is never a bad thing, but we all pretty much just want more KI, in a “shut up and take my money” manner.
Whatever the case, if they do add more content I really hope they first add stages for all the “homeless” characters before they start on anything else…otherwise we’re just adding to the homeless problem KI has.

Please no shadow orchid… That’s just a really corny idea in my opinion, and I don’t really see why people want that.

Budokai 2 Kid Buu as a guest character. textured in Ki graphics with spirit bomb enders etc

The missing stages

Alt.Orchid/Roxy Rave

Pimple & Zitz complex costumes (different voices, Fidgets, intros, win animation, and taunts)

Omen colors

Shago Accessories

Definetely stages. At least for mira and gargos or any other character from ki lore.

I took $100 and set it aside today for a KI Community fund.

And we don’t even have one yet.

Just sayin’…
