Inspired by my previous figure sketch, heres a few ideas, one revolving around KI Classic.
Very cool!
I love the idea of either Sweet Tooth or Mr. Grimm being a guest character in KI.
Oddly enough KI and Twisted Metal are two sides of the same coin in a bizzare way.
-
Both are exclusives to either Xbox or Playstation (KI formerly Nintendo.)
-
Both have dark and wild characters and designs
-
Music played a huge roll in their series giving each game its own personality and vibe.
-
Microsoft and Sony refuse to continue the franchises further after having a moderately acceptable reboot (KI 2013, TM 2012)
-
Both have wild rosters and unique character archetypes and gameplay gimmicks.
Wouldn’t mind them doing a crossover, but very unlikely.
Both also involve tournaments where contestants murder one another in order to get their wish fulfilled, although in Twisted Metal’s case there’s a far more Faustian/Monkey’s Paw element to it compared to KI’s dark cyberpunk theme.
True, unfortunately. Still, it would be cool to see such a thing though.

- The Announcer
Last one is a “what if the Killer Instinct announcer was his own separate character.” Idea
Dude, these are awesome!
Funny thing about the announcer - I always imagined that was Fulgore’s voice.
Interesting theory.
Frankly Ive always saw Fulgore as a mute killer, aside from his freakish boar screams when he attacks in the old games. Which honestly makes him pretty terrifying as a unstoppable machine.
Since UltraTech is all about spectacle and flair, thought it would’ve been a fun idea that the Announcer was an artificial spokesman to hype their tournaments. Sorta like Michael Buffer crossed fussed with Schwarzenegger’s Running Man.
For sure!
Honestly the initial idea spanwed from how KI 2013 has multiple announcer options, Seeing how Aria is already visible as a playable character, at the time prior to S3, I wondered “What do Chris and Mike look like? Since they’re two separate beings.”
So I did two mockups of the two. Chris, being more Retro and SciFi oriented since he is the OG KI Announcer, while Mike is more gritty and menacing to match the raw and violent nature of Season 1 at the time. Hence the metal skull face.
Nice.
Found this on Artstation. TBH it kind of looks AI-generated imo, but I do have to admit this looks kind of cool as far as potential Fulgore designs are concerned.
nope it aint AI generated at all.
How can you tell? I mean, in some ways, it kind of looks like the body of that robot ninja character from “Overwatch”, albeit with the head and dreads from the Predator. Something I notice with some AI-generated art is the tendency to use pre-existing images, if not combine some aspects while also adding additional limbs and digits.
Here are some of the artist’s other “takes” that makes me think that these might be AI-generated:
Riptor:
Orchid:
Thunder:
TJ Combo:
Jago:
Cinder:
Spinal:
Glacius:
Sabrewulf:
Had an idea for Rival Match intro quotes. I have a few more in storage on my PC, but here’s just a sample.
Inspired by SF4 Arcade Rivals and MKX Vs Intros
I like the one on the left it seems more in character for Jago
Have you tried others? I’d like to see them.
As a matter of fact I have, but most of the assets I had are stored on my computer somewhere. But here were some that are mostly complete.
(Ignore some spelling errors.)
Jago vs. Tiger Spirit (Omen)
Jago vs. Shadow Jago
Orchid vs. Shadow Jago
Orchid vs. Omen
Sadira vs. Jago
Jago vs. Rash
(Round 2)
Orchid vs. Rash
(Round 2)
Just gotta find the time to make more, as I wanted to do every character against eachother. Again simmilar to how MKX did their intros. Everyone would have something to say to their opponents, as well for mirror matches. (Even a few surprises that I won’t spoil here… hint hint )
I liked that one too ngl, shows a good dynamic between Sabrewulf’s savage instinct, as well Jago’s clear headed guidance. I would think. That was my intention anyway. Like Mick Gordon once said in an interview for KI2013’s music, I wanted to get inside the character’s heads to see how they would react differently from one another.
Though personally I like the other one, simply for the line…
Idk why, but ever since Season 1 was revealed, (way back before Thunder was shown), I always felt that would be a badass victory quote after Jago defeated Sabrewulf. Always stuck with me for some reason. It’s just too good of a quote imo.
