I’ve seen that second “fly away” with other characters. It’s pretty funny though.
Ever since my game crashed a few days ago, each time I go to play a ranked game it tells me I have left a ranked game in progress (I havent) and I have fewer wins and points than when I logged out. It feels like there may be a serverside issue with my account.
I would like to have someone look into my account to see what happened

I play on PC
I think all of this all started when my game crashed during character select.
This is happening to me too! I can’t play ranked unless i reinstall the game and even then it eventually happens again! I was on a 9 game winning streak and them bam instant crash and instant loss before getting into a match. It started happening with Gargos’s update. Please fix these bugs way before the next update. A small update needs to come out asap because this is bad and causes probation!
Having the same issue with Ranked Disconnects (when I haven’t quit or closed the game out on purpose). The game crashes before I can select my character. I get credited with a loss and it’s happened for the past week since Gargos was dropped. I played a match less than 10 minutes ago. Won the set 2-0. I come back to the ranked screen to search for another opponent, and just now I was given a “probation” warning because I’ve been given a lot of wins off of disconnects. It gives me a loss then tells me that the disconnect was given in my favor which has it think that I’m cheating. I honestly have never had this problem and I’ve been playing since Season 1. I want to play every day like normal but I can’t because I get credited with a loss from disconnects and my game crashes. Then to be told just now that I’ve been disconnecting on purpose to get wins?? Cmon KI get it together.
Someone please respond soon.

There is a buffer period for inputs, if you’re holding buttons too long, the game registers releasing a button for inputs as well. So I can hold a button, do a directional input, release the button for a special, it’s more or less the old charge mechanic just kinda hidden. So the only thing I can recommend would be cleaning up your inputs first, making sure you’re doing single presses of buttons, holding linkers for only a few frames to get your heavy linkers, once your linker hits the first hit, you don’t need to hold the button anymore. The only input issue I’ve noticed since season 3 is inputs don’t get reversed while being crossed up like they used to. If I knew someone was jumping over me, I could put in a reverse DP direction, and get my DP on the crossup, now that doesn’t work, I end up getting laser sword with Jago or Laser with Fulgore. The other issues come with that too when you’re crossing up an opponent. Lets say I wanted to cross up teleport, I might get blade dash sometimes or get teleport, it seems rather random but only happens with characters who have specials for both fireball motions. All I know is the online quality for inputs, I.E. the 3 frame buffer window needs to be tweaked. Sometimes it seems like that buffer is non existent, and other times it seems like that buffer is overcompensating to doing auto doubles before I’ve even decided my linker so I can’t get my ender or even counter breaker my combo’s in anticipation of a break. Also have noticed a lot of poor quality with the addition of crossplay. People I used to play flawlessly with, are now terrible matches. Ranked drops a lot of games, even lobbies drop players or drop the entire lobby for no reason when party chat is still connected just fine. So that leaves the variable at Killer Instinct not the internet connections.
I see what you’re saying, but I’ve been playing on and off since S1 launch. Control before and after patch feel fundamentally different, like the dead zone has changed. That hasn’t happened with a patch before.
As for the unwanted manuals and enders, I went into practice and definitely get different results while doing the same thing. What’s that fighting game term, negative edge?
I might be talking about the wrong thing but maybe something’s happened with that.
As Aganos, I used a point-blank Shadow pulverize on Kim Wu during a combo, and one of the 5 hits wiffed(the 4th). I could still use an ender and the combo finished correctly. I will post a video later
Made a little video about the problems I’m encountering. Before I wondered if it was just me, but testing in practice has left me sure something is up.
EDIT: Just did this same thing with mediums and lights, getting the same results. Occasionally drops combo, occasionally does manual, occasionally does the attack but not a manual. Just not an ender since I’m not pressing a heavy.
But in terms of me and the controller, I’m doing the same thing.
after playing with the character a bit i’ve discovered there are some issues between gargos and arbiter.
-
i don’t know what causes it but in some instances with overshield on when u attach a grenade to gargos and your attacking him the grenade will disappear instead of blowing up like it was never there.
-
apparently gargos can AA command grab aribiter 2/3 screen from his sword (Jumping Hp) and didn’t know if the sword had a hitbox for him to grab and this is intended or not
-
when arbiter throws gargos in the corner, gargos flips out in the middle of arbiter hit box instead forward into the corner so the grenade doesn’t properly connect or completely whiffs. gargos basically does a flip out animation off corner throws and the grenade setup doesnt work.
just throwin some stuff out there that happened during gameplay
Watching your video, you’re pressing your heavy buttons far too late. You can buffer your auto double before the linker is done. basically auto doubles are buffered while the linker is active, and manuals are timed when the linker is in recovery. You’re getting enders might be an issue with trying to do an auto double but pressing the button too late then pressing heavy which triggers the ender because no auto happened. The one that went into a HK manual, you pressed it far after the linker was done, watch it a little closer, your linker had hit all 3 times, then HK popped up.
Also as far as the random jumps, X1 game pads register an up far sooner than say putting your joystick at like half way between 1 and 2 on a clock. It registers about between 2 and 3 on a clock. Which is pretty close to barely nudging it beyond neutral right or left giving you a jump.
Okay, I’ll look more at the timing. But sometimes I attempt to buffer my inputs and nothing comes out. I don’t believe I’m doing anything differently with my own inputs that I wasn’t doing before.
I’m just saying these things feel different since the update. Especially with Mira, but in general this stuff just wasn’t happening.
Of course, at the same time if something was wrong then the pro players would be up in arms, which just hasn’t happened.
As far as I know, the only thing that mildly changed is manual timing. Aside from that, the main issue I have is with online play. Offline I have no problems, I don’t get reversed inputs, I don’t drop manuals into doubles or linkers into enders, the issue you’re explaining, or the issue you’re having, I can 100% say happens online. Specially since crossplay was instated. Sometimes the 3 frame compensation and rollbacks are just too much, it eats inputs, puts unintended moves out, or just does nothing. I am going to get my video recorded of a match I played as Jago, I did 3 fireball inputs, and he stood there and did nothing. Thus allowing me to get opened up and lose. I don’t mind losing, I actually enjoy losing then I can watch and learn what I did wrong, but when the game is fighting me before I’m fighting another player, it’s enraging. Fireball inputs are easy, back forward inputs are easy, there is almost no excuse for them to not come out if my controller is fine. I will try and get the video tonight after work.
At about 1 min in to this vid you’ll see me apply instinct, cash out, after the launcher ender, mist no longer does potential damage until juggle is over normally the last part of the combo is a level 4 but in this instance and this has happened several times, it is only level 1.
Turn down the volume. It is messed up. Apologizes. This was a bug that happened with Cinders pyro bombs and Spinal. In the first video I seemingly die to nothing right as his pyro bombs disappear. He didn’t make them explode but the previous was removed due to the limit of bombs allowed on screen at once.
Here’s another one where I have a pyro bomb on me as Spinal and as he detonates the bomb I divekick. I did not take damage or go into a juggle state.
I’ve tried to replicate the first video but no luck as of yet.
I’ve experienced this too.
I got a vert mean bug since the Gargos update : Ranked matchs regularly disconnect the moment the Game find an opponent.
And of course it crédits me of a loss.
Please fix it quick.
Its a bit odd.
I got 4-5 disconnections in ranked(In the very moment we go to select characters, in the same second all characters appears and without the chance of ever reading who is my opponent) since the patch.
1 was a loss for me
The rest were free wins.
Got a couple of these myself today. I just assumed they saw my last played character as either Shago or Rash and didn’t want any of it…
Unable to use Season 3 characters despite having Supreme Edition.
I launched KI today and found out that I can only play with Season 1 characters. Last time I played was Tuesday and all characters were available then.
In the menus I went from the title to multiplayer and the screen turned red. It still had the dashboard overlay and a couple of others (can’t remember which), but I could still select options and when I backed out everything went back to normal. This is on the PC version. Also when I went to record it via Xbox app, it wouldn’t let me…said there was nothing to record.
Also had a crash when I tried to play ranked…counted as a loss…and the next time I tried the other player had an immediate disconnect…counted as a free win.
