Well I hope that things get fixed eventually and people like you that cant play the game fully offline will have that ability. Heres hoping during KI Cup coming up in the next week or so will help when they do announcements and QA.

Might it be useful to start a petition for making “Killer Instinct” [PC] playable offline? Ive got an invitement for user research for getting feedback for KI. So they are still interestet, in what gamers think.

This ■■■■■■ me off like you have no idea, it’s bullcrap, i paid for the game and not anywhere it says you need to be always online to play, technically you can yes only jago but c’mon Microsoft why are they set on screwing their customers more and more everytime.
I wonder 
if the steam-version will solve this problem.

Has anyone tested it, are the fighters still grayed out in offline-mode in the steam-Version?
yeah, good point. Ive quit paying for XbL now, so I guess my Xbox games are all useless now, including KI. 
Just loaded Steam up in Offline mode and went to P1 vs CPU and all my characters are there.

Just ran KI on my PC (Win10 ver.) offline. As expected only Jago and the free character Riptor were available to me to play. For clarity, I should say I own S1 (w/ Shago) & individually bought Riptor/Aganos/KimWu/Tusk.
yooooo … that’s great to hear. I’m gonna get a few more confirmations and then that might be a legit reason for me, personally to get the steam version. Currently, I play exclusively on the win10 version, which I love, but when traveling, I have to tether a internet connection to get all the characters. It kind of makes sense that the steam version might can do this as it’s not affiliated with xbl.
Its due to the cross buy stuff. XB would get the downloads first, if you dont directly download the seasons through the win10 store, it thinks you have the xbox versions and requires the license to play on win10. My first 2 ultimate sets dont work offline because i downloaded it directly from the xbox store because it didnt come available on pc til awhile later yet my third which i waited on, works just fine offline. Thats why the steam version is just fine overall offline, it doesnt have any real connection to the xbox store.

With the team getting back together for Anniversary Edition, we have active troubleshooting & team members working to support issues flagged in the Anniversary Support thread and other ones that are popping up.
A member flagged this issue and linked this thread about the PC version not working correctly offline.
First, sorry this thread has been sitting here so long, the KI Team has not been on the game for a long time and we will do our best to catch up on things that should work and we can support on.
We have confirmation this does work on KI Anniversary Edition (see pic), but understand it is not working for everyone! We are working to figure out what is the difference, or what steps are required to solve why it does not work for some PC/setups.
Our support account (which is run by actual KI Dev Team members) will provide some troubleshooting steps soon to see if this helps and we will link a new thread to consolidate this.
