Since @rukizzel didn’t post it on the news(Although it would be GREATLY appreciated for some visibility), I’m going to post here two recent news for the game
This news are important, and here in the forums we can give a lot of visibility to them. Seriously @rukizzel, please post these in the news section. It would be greatly appreciated
For news you should make sure to check ultra-combo.com. While we cross-post a lot of things we ultimately deem supremely newsworthy, you’ll notice that Skin Packs and Guardian sales generally are not on that list. Look out for the Omen post tomorrow morning around 9 am pdt!
But what of hotfixes? Same concept, different avenue. Those won’t end up on the website, unlike their larger Patch counterparts, and we’ll usually respond to established threads with the notes (or in this case a quick tweet) to chat with the affected folks.
Shouldn’t an announcement that fixes a game-breaking issue be posted to the official KI news website? What about the people who decided to give KI a break until that issue was fixed? Seems like a pretty important thing to tell people, and Twitter doesn’t reach everyone (I found out about it through word of mouth and had a hard time finding the patch notes when I tried to look).
EDIT - Ok, well, since it’s likely that tweet will get lost in the internet, I archived the patch notes for 3.8.2 (and all other patches) on my site: http://ki.infil.net/patchnotess3.html#3.8.2
• Fixed a bug that could cause the game to crash if you experienced a rollback while charging a Lv2 or Lv3 arrow during online play.
• Fixed a bug that allowed Eagle to fire instant charged arrows from his Wingspan -> HP move by getting hit out of charging an arrow.
• Made a correction on Eagle’s command list to show that his Ultra and Stage Ultra are input with a QCF motion, and not a DP motion.
Irrelevant to the topic, but something I’ve been wanting to ask you nonetheless. You often express your opinion as who you believe ranks where in the top five, or bottom bit of the tier list. Would you or have you ever considered keeping an updated tier list on your website?
On-Topic, for those wondering, Omen’s three colors cost $1.
I’ve thought about it at various points, but I decided not to because saying “this character is low tier” could easily convince someone to not try, or give up on, a character they might otherwise really like.
I respect that, it could also lead to an influx of people forcing themselves the “top” character as is the case of Smash, well at least that’s how I see it.
As nice as it would be so that we as players can acknowledged and discuss the stance of characters and placement, it would certainly lead to toxicity. Most likely in the cases as to why a character is too low/weak, was nerfed the way they were and somehow use that as an excuse not to practice or figure out how to adjust as a player.
