That may be harder to do for some characters like Glacius with a floaty jump. If he wants a more straight forward trailblazer than he shouldn’t be allowed to choose which direction he flies. Basically: Jago’s Wind Kick
Yeah this is the best choice for cinder. Only one direction because if he got to choose a side, it would definitely be overpowered, unless it came at a price.
Personally I feel that if he’s makde a simple rushdown he shouldn’t get to do anything like his current gameplay for balance reasons. Just a simple rush in like Wulf.
Like you “just” block or jump over windkick? And deal with the same blocked windkick->DP/throw mixup Jago has afterward?
You could give Cinder a move like that, but you realize you’d basically need to change his entire kit to balance around it right? Things aren’t as simple as “add this full screen threat on top of what he’s got” - he’d have to lose some tools, have others tweaked, and probably have some movement options slightly reworked. It isn’t a simple addition, and in the end what happens to all those players who currently like the very unique combat direction Cinder has?
Or if they do they might as well get rid of all his zoning moves, including Inferno, or maybe keep it, just make it crappy like in KI1.
If people wanna play KI1 cinder than they might as well live the crappy aspects to. Mayve even make it similar in control scheme to the inferno so you “accidentally” use that and have it slow on recovery so Glacius can cold shoulder you and beat the crap out of you.
Sarcasm aside. I may have to think a bit more with Cinder’s KI3 gameplay but I’m grateful for his other tools and I get to work with them a bit more. In a way Cinder is like Glacius but more offence based. I actually play alot of mind games against my brother in a cinder vs Glacius MU. Fun fun!
Because full-screen-whenever-he-wants windkick is very good. It’s very, very, good when he’s also got bombs that he can stick to most of the cast without issue (thereby preventing jumping from ever being a viable counter to this move). You’re talking about a strict buff on top of a character who is already very solidly mid-tier.
Cinder currently has something similar in his 3/4 screen low inferno, but this requires he be fired up, and he needs meter to confirm into combo. A full screen trailblazer means nope, no need to use meter to confirm into combo from full screen, and no need to even be fired up in the first place to be a credible threat from across the screen. That is a big buff in and of itself.
And on top of it, not needing to use meter to confirm combos means that he now has that meter to use elsewhere. So maybe he uses it for guaranteed chip, maybe he uses it for big bomb pressure, maybe for big PD build, or maybe it means he gets to do all three and still always have meter for the juggle cashout. If launch S3 Thunder should have taught anything, it’s that removing meter gates for things has big implications across the entirety of a character’s playstyle. You don’t just get to add meterless full screen moves and think it doesn’t affect the larger balance around a character.
Because it would still be too good and at this point, it is just better for balance to not give Cinder a full screen windkick.[quote=“STORM179, post:28, topic:16351”]

Nope no fired up. If he gets a full screen trailblazer for more simplicity and moves he shouldn’t be able to do anything he can do now.
Full on rushdown-easy to use with less tools. He’ll be so good and simple everything else will make him OP or they wouldn’t be nessecary to the gameplay. Just a bread and butter fire guy on rushdown : p
I’m serious if you want Cinder to be more like KI1 cinder than that’s he should be like.
Again more sarcasm aside:
Have you asked people for some advice and some ideas on how you can better utilize what Cinder has currently? If I recall this is a community meant to help people get better at their chose characters.
If it’s simply something out of preference you’d prefer on Cinder, well that can’t be helped. But I like the way Cinder is now. He has alot going on and alot of fun things you can do with practice especially. His game play is rewarding.
