Is there some way to block him?
Either way I don’t even get his point. I didn’t say anything stupid or unrealistic, if anything I was a little too realistic.
Is there anything wrong with wanting representation? Is that his problem?

Actually, Kung Jin was confirmed gay some time after MKX launched, and no one really had a problem with him being gored like everyone else.
The only real problem I could see with adding an LGBTQ character is the fact that many people aren’t very good at writing those types of characters. I’m not sure about the rest of the world, but in the US during the 1990s a lot of movies and TV shows always wrote LGBTQ characters in very specific stereotypes, typically lacking any kind of subtlety to say the least. Kung Jin worked because they put no emphasis on his status as a homosexual, instead having Raiden say a very subtle and specific line in the story mode (which could have meant anything to be honest).
Other LGBTQ characters like Venom in Guilty Gear and Eagle in Street Fighter worked on a similar principle, because they were also subtle about their sexuality. I’m not saying it’s hard to write them, but even to this day many writers have a gay character written as subtly as the average episode of Will and Grace, which is the equivalent of having a glowing neon rainbow sign above their heads at all times.
Outside of that specific issue, I don’t see a problem with having another LGBTQ character in MK11, especially since NRS avoided the number 1 pitfall associated with writing such characters in the first place. And though Harley Quinn having the hots for Poison Ivy in Injustice 2 was basically the opposite of subtle, even that was less stereotypical in terms of writing compared to the 1990s portrayals of LBGTQs in media (mainly because Harley is already crazy and the comics have implied a potential relationship for years).
Relax, he didn’t say anything wrong. He doesn’t have to want your idea of representation, just like you don’t have to want representation of certain types of characters molds. Your trying to hard to push your agenda, if it’s going to happen it will happen, until then…chill. Not everyone and every idea can be represented.
A trans character doesn’t necessarily fit the story… and creating a plot just to fill sexual representation just isn’t necessary. Adding politically fueled agendas to a game that is entertainment is dangerous territory for a business… therefore its probably not going to happen anytime soon.
Hell I want a heavy metal / black metal character but it isnt going to happen because it just doesn’t really fit in with the lore of MK nor does Satanic imagery.
BUt what you can do is go make a fighting game with these characters and you can be the first one to do this.
Everything about Shinnok, Quan Chi, the Revenants and the Netherrealm are covering this though.
This is the Netherrealm Kamidogu:
It may happen
As if you know Jack ■■■■ about the real world. I have no more interest in a transgender character in MK than I do in flying to the moon. But being a ■■■■■■■■ to someone for the sake of being a ■■■■■■■■ is not “the real world.” Anyone who responds to anyone’s post about anything with “lolololol” is a keyboard warrior being a troll. I bet you feel fantastic and proud. Way to go. You’ve made the world a better place today for sure.
If you don’t want to talk about something don’t. If you want to say your against something say that. But keep your “lolllol” to yourself.
Sorry bud, but you’re wrong about this. He absolutely doesn’t have to agree, and he’s free to make his case against it - the way you did. Then people can discuss it. But what he’s doing is just ridiculing someone for suggesting it. I don’t know why people choose to do this, but it’s not right. He hasn’t said anything of any substance at all. Just “lololol” and “good luck in the real world.” Ridiculing people is easy and it never improves any situation.
if hes hurt over a forum post well ■■■■ what can i say? if he thinks im bad he hasnt seen anything yet out there. you oughta know
She. And how would you feel if you brought up a topic that was deeply personal to you and is something you deal with the effects of every day in your life, and they just laugh at you.
I am right there with you on the general principle that people are too easily offended. But I’m at a loss to find any purpose to what you wrote other than to offend. So I don’t think you can just say “hey, lighten up man.”
it was trollish yup. i found it funny and i caused offense, just like i found it ridiculous and funny that hwangs codename was suspected of racism. a boogeyman that aint there because people these days are set off by the tiniest thing. you were on a roll up to the keyboard warrior part, those guys offer to meet in person to fight.
@CausingThought6 id get back up and dust myself off then talk ■■■■ back. i done it many many times before, stick up for yourself its a good thing to do.
So back on the topic of Mortal Kombat 11, I was watching a 47-minute video Max posted where he and the YoVideogames crew talked about the new and altered mechanics they experienced in the preview build. Two specific things interested me to hear, which was their opinions on the lack of run and the lack of armor on character moves (apparently spending meter on armored interactions is still in the game).
In the case of the no more run button, they did notice that the dashing is way less safe than in previous games, and based on how they described it it sounds like the Glacius and Aganos dash moves in KI where dashing is the last thing you want to do. They were also quick to point out that characters that have teleports and forward rushing attacks (like Raiden’s electric fly move) made those characters way more viable at staying in the desired attack ranges, as well as better punishing players who keep backpedaling to recharge their meters or use zoning attacks.
The other aspect is that character-specific armor moves no longer exist, which removes the concepts of both easily punishing spam from opponents, and being punished for using predicable or unsafe armor moves as a “get out of jail free card”. As someone who mained Ferra/Torr in the Lackey variation, which has a good amount of armor moves to compensate for the lack of a ranged presence (Lackey variation is basically Torr playing more like Bane from Injustice, but with only one real command grab), I am curious of how this could affect the overall balance and meta of the game. Characters in MKX that had no projectiles of any kind were given armor moves to punch through a zoning character and punish accordingly, but with that gone (and zoning appearing more potent than ever) I’m worried that we could have an Injustice situation where projectile spam gets a lot of people easy wins. I know that the tech roll exists, but I still have reservations of it’s usefulness in a real match.
On a side note, Max also said NRS should just steal KI’s counter breaker system as a reversal option. I have no opinion on this specific idea he had, but I’m curious of what everyone here would think on that notion.
Either way, if you haven’t seen the whole video or not, I’m just curious of what people here think of the lack of run and armor moves so far. Do you think it’ll break the balance, or that NRS may reverse the changes in the final product? Will it make the game slower to a point that you may lose interest? I personally think the game is basically sounding like MK9 with more grounded neutral and less focus on giant combos, which I am fine with, but anything can happen between now and the final release of the game.
Rampage? Well I could see them making a nonsense reason for the monsters being 6-8 feet tall (like how the old games and the movie did to make them giant) but I don’t see them getting in over Spawn at this point in time. I will admit Ralph would be great, basically make him a heavier version of Sabrewulf or a grappler who throws people across the stage with his jaws. Also I would personally prefer the movie versions, I find mutated animals more appealing than were-beasts for some reason (I guess because they’re more pure beasts than former humans? Something to that effect).
Mod reminder to stay on topic and remember TOS. It’s fine if we have a conversation about representation in FG’s, but such a conversation needs to be respectful. You don’t have to agree, but you do have to be constructive in your responses and respectful at all times. If the sole purpose of your response is to troll or offend (on this or any other matter), then keep it to yourself.
F*ck you for bringing that in here! XD
Ed Boon already responded to it.

The MK sub is full of incredibly stupid memes atm… the wait between actual MK11 news is painful.
Watch shaggy pop up in Injustice3 because of this.
Id rather have “SuperMaam”
supermaam vs shaggy, then shaggy does his fatality to reveal supermaam’s identity as batmaam lololol
