Minions during a chest

I was running through Shadow Lords with Gargos and noticed that the minions always disappeared when the chest would spawn after a fight. So I spawned them to see what would happen…

Spoiler, they don’t attack. They don’t even use the special. Anyone know why?

They also take damage from the items that fly out of the chest for some reason

During normal fight they don’t attack mid rounds either, so I guess they only attack when there is opponent that can execute attacks.

What I don’t understand though, is why won’t they do the special when I command them to?

Watching them get hit by the rewards was funny!
