I’ll be glad to participate on Sat. However, due to work, I won’t be available until after 7pm central time… My Sadira needs a good work out.
At least you don’t have Comcast. The internet crashes a lot. Plus they are overpricing us. Made a $50 monthly fee to a $100 monthly fee somehow. They said if you don’t like it,go somewhere else.(Comcast is alone as the others are way overpriced and quality is worse)
Just wanted to let everyone know that the lobby’s still planned to go ahead this Saturday. There will be a party set up so those who can’t be in the lobby can at least join in the discussion. Sorry for my lack of response and for this short reply, just thought I’d drop in and let you know that as of this post everything is still going ahead.
I have a 150GB monthly limit, which with the amount of games I download and HD streaming movies and I watch via Netflix and Hulu (which I’m also paying for), it is simply not enough. I get billed extra for overrages, which is routinely in the 300-400+GB range. My monthly bill is $150-250+ and has been that high since August (and has been slowly getting to that point for well over 2 years now). I’ve called my ISP about the possibility of increasing this limit and they outright refused to do it - they said that’s what everybody gets no ins, ands, or buts. Basically, they’re not reasonably meeting my family’s lifestyle and are using their own shoehorned policy limitations to price-gouge us. The worst part? Since they’re our only ISP, we can’t leave them. If we do, there will be nobody else to turn to, we’d get no Internet whatsoever (which, in today’s world, is an absolute death sentence), and they’ve already told us that they would not allow us to return if we wanted to.
Does that sound like great company service to you or does it sound more like a self-serving company to you?
I’ve never heard of Cox doing that. I have Cox, but I’m in a city very close to Phoenix, AZ. My internet is $50 a month for 25 down 10 up with no data cap.
To me, it sounds like you live in a very rural area, or in a small town. That’s the problem I used to have. If I were you, I’d look into moving for better internet, if that’s what your home life uses the most.
I’m a substitute teacher - I can’t afford to move; also, I don’t use COX - I’m stuck with AT&T, as I said above in another post.
Oh, whoops. Thought i was being helpful.![]()
Not to worry; it’s the effort you put in that’s important. Yoda says there is no try, but I what I say to that is NOPE.
■■■■ dude…Your internet sounds like a Dictatorship than a ISP. ![]()
Well, even if the event isn’t streamed, I should be able to provide a small local audience on my end. Girlfriend and family will be over, waiting to see their perception of “someone who is good at that game” get completely shattered. ![]()
LOL Have some faith in your abilities Bro!
You’re right! Even in a in a lobby potentially full of Killers, I shall not give up. Though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, The Silver Scrub will fear no evil! ![]()
You honestly don’t fight like a “Silver” Tier. I feel like if you focused more on 2 people, you could be killer in a hour or so!
That, and if I actually go and play online more often than twice a year
Dang, now you’ve gone and gotten my confidence up.
Though I suppose you’re right. If I really wanted to climb the ranks, it would be wise to find characters I can properly clobber people with online and get them down pat. Would probably be best to stick to the shotos in a lot of online shenanigans so I can be flexible no matter the matchup. I could always start focusing Wulf again, though.
That being said, I really do like the idea of being at least capable with every character. I might try my hand at mastering a few to climb up the ranks up to Killer, but I just know that when Season 3 starts up again I’ll probably head back into my lab to grind away at all the new character colors. ![]()
Well, if you want your confidence boosted to the max, know this:
Saberwulf & Glacius are my hardest matchups.
And I know these are characters that you know how to play! Especially Wulf.
Even if you get Bodied, take it as a learning experience, and see what new stuff we come up with using the characters! Plus, you will be talking to the coolest cats on the block! ![]()
Not only that, but you’ll all have me to beat about a lot as well… Use your opponent’s weaknesses as your strengths - I can’t see what you’re doing strength wise so throwing in manuals will basically guarantee you damage if I try to break it ![]()
Actually, that’s just given me an idea… If you’re all up for it, we could stick in a few blindfold matches - even if both opponents have sight… I think that’ll be interesting to watch ![]()
@TheNinjaOstrich Yeah, the experience is part of why I signed on. It’d be a heck of a lot better to start practicing with friends from the forums than random people online. I’ll get to see all the cool stuff everyone goes on about in the tech threads first hand!
Plus, harder to be salty getting bodied by a buddy than by some random who acts like various swear words I shouldn’t say for the sake of the forum filter’s delicate sensibilities. ![]()
@SightlessKombat I’ll try to be sportsmanlike and not intentionally use that tidbit against you ![]()
But I totally agree that blindfolded matches could be super fun. It’d be hard to make sure no one’s peaking without a Skype call or something, but just the idea is super fun. I’ve done it once or twice, but only fighting opponents vastly below my own skill level (i.e. Siblings & Girlyfriend) so doing it with people who are more experienced would be a blast!
Sounds like we’re probably going to need 2 lobbies! I think max is 8 players in one lobby and it looks like we have over 8 players!
COX cable is the WORST cable provider on the planet! Stay with ATT and go with there highest speed DSL.
I have xfinity and its super fast…love it
Sightless is good man… dont even think you need to blind fold to make it even
