I couldn’t BELIEVE this when I read it…

That in 2016, gamepads with DPADS inferior to SNES controllers are still being manufactured.
And actually SOLD for around $50.00US.

And that gamepad for $149.00 US, is that a hoax? A tasteless joke?
It’s a f*cking nightmare!

Anyone that bought that Xbox Elite Controller should be tazed ON SIGHT. Sorry!

I remember General what’s his name or Major some crap, all over videos advertising this new XBone controller blah blah blah, and some indian looking, indian speaking guy, talking about a ‘nice satisfying… click’ …registering on the dpads.

I remember thinking, damn Microsoft you’re getting with it.

Fast forward to this… what the h*ll just happened?

Someone needs firing, FAST… and from a bunch of these gamepad companies. Not just Microsoft.

This is assuming that the DPAD even WORKS as it should in the first place.

PDP gamepads? What a joke. Don’t EVER buy their Mortal Kombat themed gamepad.
Mad Katz gamepads? Probably still made from recycled garbage bags.

These engineers have to be EXTREMELY detached from society.

Funny that everyone else here is having trouble with the D-pad, and I’m having trouble with the left analog (I don’t use the d-pad for this game)…Moral of the story? The XBO controller build is of poor quality. Normal use (relative to the 360 era) of any of the components will result in failure.

Analog sticks work great for qc and hc but dp’s are where the problem lies. I had 2 dpad’s break on me on 360 before I decided to buy the sf x tekken fight pad worked great and lasted and worked well before I switched to xb1 unfortunately xb1 doesn’t offer a quality fightpad

I’ve only broken one controller’s right bumper through KI3’s lifespan, and that was because something got caught under the bumper.

I dunno, maybe I just have good luck.

Well I got my spare Dpad out & put it in & sure enough, the controller’s working fine now. Seriously…easy fix. Just find somewhere online that sells XB1 Dpads & swap it out…it’s working good as new.

Sadly, it didn’t help my playing much today…sinuses clogged up, head’s kinda foggy, makes it hard to think straight in a match…

Honestly, some people simply have the wrong ‘technique’ and punish the gamepads instead of playing calmly and precisely.

You rubbers out there.

I shudder, putting my control in certain people’s hands. Children included.

Still, these gamepads should be built strong enough to be ‘child-proof’ at the very least.

Gamepads won’t last long if they are abused though.

Extreme force will wreck anything electronic. Not saying you guys did that, just throwing some facts out there.

Yeah, fighters are not on the minds of people designing these controllers.

If the controllers work for shooter games then they don’t see any need to improve it.

So dumb. I have two controllers with faulty down/left on the dpad.

What in the hell are you talking about? Lol. I don’t abuse my controller. I play fighting games with it. The analog stick doesn’t hold up. 4 controllers now. That’s a build problem, never had this problem in previous generations. Don’t give me that crap.

Same problem on one of mine. No diagonal input. Makes sense that it is the d-pad plastic, seeing as how the primary directions work fine. I’ll be buying a couple spare d-pads directly. Thanks for the heads up. So, if your d-pad goes, use wulf or tj lol.

I had 2 elite controlers in 4 months, both of which either had audio related defects or broke after aslight impact that a normal controler would’ve weathered just fine in comparison. My 2 cents: I wouldn’t say they’re worth the money at the moment really.

Thanks for the heads up bro…I’m on my 4th normal controller and haven’t picked up an elite due to fear that it’s not durable as well. I’ll wait for a significant price drop.

I’d suggest you do just that. They’re good quality in terms of the parts (when I was using them other than the defects). As soon as you unintentionally nock it or similar it has the potential to suffer depending on where it makes contact. One of the bumpers came loose and came away from the rubber plunger that it worked with so… yeh…

I’d say stick to normal ones - I’ve been using those and they’ve been fine for me so far (I think).

I’ve bought Elite only because of that. My opinion - default X1 or PS1-4 controllers are just impossible to use and round X360 dpad and especially Elite X1 are almost perfect for fighting games…

only few days of adaptation and my level gone much higher.

I love my Xbox One Elite. I was going through at least 3 standard controllers a year. I used Best Buy insurance and it saved me a ton, but still it was disappointing to keep ruining controllers when just playing a game.

I purchased the Elite and haven’t looked back. It’s amazing.

I’m on my fourth controller. I use the analog stick and on all 3 controllet’s the left sick stopped reading. I’m hard on controllers. Stopped reading dp inputs and sticking in the up position. I would never spend 150 bucks on a controller. I’m not sure what the big deal is about the elite haven’t looked into it. But again I’m hard on controllers. Heavy fingers.

My R1 button has given out on the edge. Too much Dark Souls LOL

Anyone know of a way to fix it? Its still works if you press on the R1 more to the left/inner part of the button. But on the edge it doesnt click.
