I already posted this in another thread, but I figure it bears repeating here:
In the case of the FGC, it’s easy to see where that toxicity comes from. The games get expensive, they take a lot of practice to get good at them, and then they get set on the shelf as people move on to the next big game. That’s a lot of yourself that gets poured into a game, only to have someone tell you it’s gimmicky garbage, game’s dead, and you should go play Evo Fighter 7:Ultra Rebirth Anniversary ESPN Edition because it’s the new hotness.
…Of course that’s just until Evo Fighter 8 comes out and completely reworks the game’s mechanics making anything you’ve learned up to that point completely invalid, starting the cycle all over again.
