I honestly figure KI3 will have a reaction similar to what Halo Reach has had. While it was new it was popular to bash it as hot garbage. Once Halo 4 & 5 showed up many people donned their nostalgia goggles and started declaring it as being one of the better Halo games.
What’s funny is the same is happening to H4.
Lol I’m not surprised.
Oh, I forgot:
3.Fix Eagle bug already.
Both Halo Reach and Halo 4 were good games (although 4’s multiplayer never really grabbed me). Reach is my favorite Halo hands down. And it was actually received quite well on release - it wasn’t until later in its life that people started whining about it.
Yeah, I probably lost about 3 full months of my life to that game if not more. I actually made it to the Inheritor rank and unlocked the Haunted helmet.
Very fun game.
I would thank them for both the game and the good memories during the various launches. Spent a lot of time in online multiplayer modes as for a very long time there was nothing for a single player mode focused player like myself. Also met some nice community members.
By the way, I feel the same about Team Ninja and their DOA5 announcement.
Eh. I’m one of those people. And my response would be nothing much really. I’d be upset if they announced if the series as a whole wasn’t moving forward which seems to be the case with doa. Far as this version of ki if ig happened to announce nothing more was happening. The game had a good run. Better than it probably should’ve and I’ll always be greatful for what the game allowed me to do. People will keep playing or move on from it as they already have.
Theres been so much confusion over this whole DoA Debacle that the truth has been rendered irrelevant.
As far as I know, based on the initial anouncement video, Team Ninja is simply taking a break… a very very very very long break.
Perhaps they DoA might find itself in a similar situation that Killer Instinct was… making a comeback after a long time.
I was there when they announced it at NEC. For the foreseeable future doa is done.
well i would be sad … plain and simple
i still hope they add arcademode for all characters and the rest of the missing ultimates … … and the option to have the music of your opponent be played … … but other than that i think it´s fair to say that we pretty much got what we wished for
sure there will always be those who claim KI3 ain´t “killer” enough or it´s gameplay being dumbed down and ruined the feel of KI 1 and 2 …
but to me this game easiily is my most favorite fighting game to date …
so yea even if i would be sad if KI were to end, i stil will cherish what we got …
I wasn’t there… I do know other people that where. Makes no difference. Like I said earlier: The whole situation has becone so confusing that whatever the actual situation Is has been rendered irrelevant.
Pretty sure we already are past the No More KI phase. KI is pretty much left behind. IG, DH, MS had the model to continue it first but didn’t fully realize it. They didn’t make real skins, they pretty much let the accessories die remember those free Christmas accessories? Pretty sure they were going to do holiday skins and events but ditched the plan. They pretty much ditched the free 2 play model and instead opted for the yearly DLC model which would generate money upfront. Then at the end they decided to go back to the free 2 play model and did Shadow Lords mode but seeing as how support for the game has stalled it probably hasn’t done well in terms of revenue. They just couldn’t monetize KI to continue fully supporting it and providing content that would keep players coming back.
Meanwhile SFV offered the skins and DLC model and has retained its players even with a weak offering at first. Tekken also fully pushed the content to keep players content although their after end game content seems weak. Injustice has pretty much nearly perfected the model and offers a ton of content to keep striving for along with DLC that keeps people coming back. I know that TMNT reveal brought even new players to the game.
Now KI has to face new games which offer all this extra stuff along with KI’s model, and fresh new experiences.
All we can do now is wait for a new KI game that hopefully learns from its past and fully goes in on supporting the game. If they can’t deliver a campaign on the scale of a netherrealm game then it will most likely show MS isn’t 100% on board with KI and is just throwing more bones to the fan base.
If the whole franchise was going to be put on ice again I’d be horribly disappointed. The current series of KI is great and with so much potential left I want IG to continue working on it and MS to invest in it more earnestly.
I haven’t played the game for a while. I played today. One thing only. This is the best fighting game ever. It is a shame to all video game history that we don’t have a new season.
LoL… Brave Words… but I won’t contest them.
I’m not trying to start anything here, but just thought I’d share this little fun fact…
Did you know that it is completely legal for any company to promote their product as the best in the world, even if there is absolutely no proof of it being such? E.g. saying “This is the best coffee in the world!”
That’s how people’s opinions work when saying stuff like “This is the best game ever!”, because such a thing is subjective and cannot be proven by any standard. Because what is “best” is up to the individual.
LoL… thats a fun fact… so I guess Capcom can legally claim Street Fighter is beginner friendly even though it isn’t… lol… thats a bummer.
Exactly.
But they would be called out on it though, if it isn’t. But again, it’s subjective…
Well I think any Fighting Game that has moves that can’t be mastered by a person with no disorders or disabilities can’t be called Beginner Friendly.
