Bit late on this, but needless to say, it’s safe to say “Eyedol” isn’t a name that would indicate his culture. There are a few empires that he could have come from - Egyptian, Khmer Empire, maybe from the Dark Ages of Greece. The game mentions his being a god-king of a “vast dominion in an age long forgotten”, which is pretty vague.
