It takes 100% wrath to combo after influence and possession is already counter cancelable. Resets already ignore diminishing returns (scaling), which is why they’re resets in the first place.
I get what you’re saying, but even in a thread like this I think it’s best that we accurately describe the current state of the game.

oh yeah, 100% my bad. i have to joke around it is my last day of work before i actually get a vacation. all work and no play makes jack a dull boy.
i reset a guy 4 times in a row yesterday with influence during instinct, the damage stopped piling on during combo unless i did something wrong. i was wailing on him and that bar was no longer moving so i just did the ender and killed him. fair thee well
Ah, I should correct myself. The initial reset hit does unscaled damage - any subsequent hits that occur within combo will be subject to scaling based on the accumulated PD (which is probably a lot). So yeah, if they’re already loaded with potential damage, it can be hard to add more without just continuing to reset them back to back to back.

its all good man, i was gonna add to the post that i felt it was in relation to the PD also. did a great amount of damage after was said and done with a simple 1 chance break. ive come to realize during as of late during my fights that many people are starting to get really shadow counter savvy.
they’ll pull it off on the first rekka strike these days, and if i didnt have the wrath available to me to counter that BS i would have alot more losses. as it is, i have to be extremely mindful more than ever as to how much i have, the skills have definitely grown on many opponents with shadow counter.
nobody dares to challenge the FP rekka variant anymore either, they choose to just block now and go for a basic punish. instead, i cut off the rekka and go for a foot sweep, or dash > influence, kirby inhale. adapt and overcome is my mantra. i also now go for shadow counter baits because they’re all very trigger happy with it now
