Both Sabrewulf and Riptor don’t have humanoid designs, but they are fine.
Eyedol’s basic design will work fine, just as it did before. Obviously he will be given a makeover like everyone else, which will help him blend more with the new KI world we find ourselves in now.
Yes it does, which is why he will most likely receive a new role in the story just like everyone else. Only Jago, Orchid, Sabrewulf, and Thunder seem to have any part of their stories from the old games brought forward to the new one. Everyone else has seen drastic changes to their origins and lore.
Motaro never got his four legs back because designing a quadrupedal character in a fighting game is incredibly hard to balance when they have the long body of a horse. It creates a really goofy hit box and makes it hard for other characters to jump over him. Eyedol is Bipedal like everyone else, and luckily in fighting games headshots don’t equal more damage, allowing him to have a similarly designed hitbox to other tall characters like Aganos. His second head won’t present a programming problem, and as long as the IG art team uses their imagination, his head and legs won’t be difficult.
This is just your opinion, nostalgia plays little part in me wanting him back. I personally really like his design. It is somewhat goofy, yet menacing. And there are many talented fans that created awesome redesigns and fan arts of him that give him that new “Killer groove” that everyone else has.
Luckily, you aren’t on the design team. Both DH and IG have done amazing work with all of the other characters, especially with the horrible designs like Jago, Orchid, Maya, and Spinal. I have confidence that if IG decided to work on Eyedol that they would do him the same justice that they have with everyone else.

Extremely dumb no matter what nostaliga[/quote]That’s an opinion and clearly a lot of people think otherwise. Again, I’ve talked for countless hours to people on these forums about Eyedol in dozens of topics and the consensus has been that the only feature that truly needs to be represented is the dual craniums.
Think about how goofy a character like Fulgore was, he was a damned robocop knock off with predator blades and a freakin’ PONYTAIL. How dumb is that? Seriously that design is cheap, unimaginative and downright goofy. How can you say that a two headed monster is any more or less ridiculous? Just because you think Eyedol’s classic design is dumb that doesn’t make it true, no matter how many times you say it.
Plus the devs managed to take some of the most generic video game characters in the history for the industry and make them gorgeous and well designed. Kim Wu, Tusk, Spinal, Thunder, Cinder, hell even Glacius my favorite was stupid as all hell but they brought them into the future just like they’ll do with Eyedol and then all the haters will zip it because he’ll wind up being one of the most impressive looking characters on the rooster.

I don’t hate Eyedol. But I feel like Aganos covers damn near everything that Eyedol offers, minus his name.

That’s your total opinion. I have nothing with that. To me the two headed character is fine.
Obviously. Like most of the characters on the game, who have a new lore, they can be creative enough to create a new one for Eyedol.
Riptor breaks your argument. And more, Gargos himself if very much like Eyedol. If anything, it looks like Eyedol’s skeleton was reused to make Gargos. Let’s talk about goofy design after this image. Do you mind if we discuss how impossibly huge Gargos head is, defying the laws of gravity? Or how badly designed his wings are, once in that shape, they wouldn’t be able to open in the real world?

There are tons of Eyedol concepts here and on the rest of the internet, each one more interesting than the other, showing how to give a two headed character a fresh design. I myself posted a great one up here in this thread.
Again, Riptor.
It’s not that hard to put nostalgia, objectivity and reason together, unless you don’t like the character and don’t want the others who like him to have him. That’s another story.

I don’t want him back because after 13 characters leading to non-stop threads of how “they messed it up” or “this isn’t the character anymore” or “the face is wrong” or “the moves are wrong” or “the new design sucks!” this community doesn’t deserve any more returning characters. Honestly if I were IG I would have just avoided returning characters all together after S2.
So because a few bad apples in the vocal minority who can’t be satisfied whine, the rest of us don’t deserve Eyedol. lol

There are two issues at play here. The first is the design and lore. The second is the playstyle. Design and lore are a matter of personal preference, although I do agree that an insane, two-headed cyclops with goat legs is pretty essential to either the retro costume or his design. That was who he was, and he was the result of Ultratech messing with forces they did not understand. As for gameplay, I will copy my thoughts from another Eyedol thread, directed at Adam Isgreen.
"I appreciate the thought going into it, at least. It means a lot to us that at least you’re trying, because I really don’t feel the game will be complete without him. I’ve been going over it in my head and maybe I’ve hit on something.
You guys have done a brilliant job at breaking new ground (i.e. Aganos changing the borders of the stage, Kim Wu having the first nunchuks in a 2d game). One of the big problems with Eyedol, according to Keits, was that he was just stupidly overpowered. He had no real defensive weaknesses, could blast you apart at range and had ungodly priority, and to top it off he could heal. So how about this - according to lore, he is an N-dimensional god who has been wadded into our three-dimensional plane. How about having him constantly coming apart because he isn’t fully anchored in this realm? What if, alone among the characters, when the game starts Eyedol immediately begins suffering white health?
While lots of fighters have had healing over the years (including Jago), I don’t ever remember a character who HAD to heal in order to stay in the fight. That way Eyedol would be the ultimate glass cannon - you can play defensively and use your resources to do the stomp and stay alive, or you can try to bomb the opponent out of there before they cash out the constantly draining white health. And it would fit in the lore if ARIA reached into the void to try to counteract Gargos and instead wound up with Eyedol. I think this would explain the two heads and bizarre legs (he can’t fit in this plane any more than a basketball can fit in a two-dimensional circle) AND make him both a truly unique addition to the cast and to fighting games."
A character centered around health management would be a first, and fitting, since IMO that is the thing people remember most about him from the original KI (“Oh yeah! That game with the flashing chick and the cheap boss that @#@ing stomped to get health back!”). As a bonus, he could even be integrated after the season as the “ninth” character if there are no plans for him now.
I don’t like that idea simply because of it would be too hard to balance. Either he is too weak or over powered. No nice middle ground.
In terms of moveset what they need to do is completely destroy Eyedol prievious moveset and start from scratch. No health mechanic no godly priority. Preferably a completely different weapon and balance him as a new charecter

i think eyedol 's first design is too monstrous for modern KI. i don’t like the 2-head thing although IG could make it look good. i think his design was an answer to Goro or Motaro. It is too MK and brutal and i don’t like it.
also the 2 heads IMO is some insult to conjoined people.
i would prefer to be like this
or
i imagine eyedol like a depressed guardian of gargos.Gargos commands him but Eyedol wants to destroy him.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion and this thread was made to share any opinion. If we all shared the same opinion then we would all fail to see the faults in the game which other people outside of this forum can easily spot.
These are sweet designs but am sure plenty of nostalgic fans would never approve of this. They want the old characters too look as lame as they did in the 90’s. Eyedol and Gargos look to plain. They need a radically different design which would infuriate people with them saying it’s nothing like their original design. Eyedol for one, needs to ditch that Club which Aganos already has.

What option am I supposed to pick? They’re all loaded…
I played KI2. I’m completely indifferent about him in that game. I don;t have nostalgia over KI2. However, I want him in the new KI to complete the roster.
i think that if the new designs are good (i trust IG about design and gameplay) the nostalgic players will be ok after some matches.(stages also would help about that). but tbh i don’t think eyedol is coming back for now…too many big bodies in season 3.
IG can get this eyedol thing down pat if they put their minds to it
yes they had done good work (even they started somehow meh with TJ,now he is great) and even with two heads the are ideas like, the two heads to be non symmetrical or like we always see one head and the other is inside the body and when they change the character changes gameplay. but it is a little hmm. i don’t know maybe they can do it good.but i like a design as these i posted before.
If IG can make Eyedol look half as good as these fan arts, I will be more than satisfied.

To be hinest though, these polls and discussions are sort Of irrelevant. If it takes them ~6 months to make a character, all the characters for S3 are already underway. Maybe we can affect S4 or KI2, but the discussion won’t change the current course of S3.
These could work, as long as they don’t make him the size of Aganos.

Thunder size would make it, he doesn’t need to be threatening big.
But I think the two heads are essential. No need of being a cyclops though.
