Just a quick apology to the community and developers. Admit I had a bit to much to drink and allowed frustrations to get the better of me.
As i sit and breathe, i do think id take Iron Galaxy as a developer over most others in the marketplace, even considering your argument.
I’ve been playing it on both my pc and my xbox with zero problems since season one.
This thread is going to get real ugly real fast at around 3 pm tomorrow. As far as IG is concerned, I will take them over several companies any day. At least they admit there is a problem. For being an Indie developer, they are really great about fixes. Dead Rising 4 has had problems from day 1, and the Devs refuse to even admit it. I could name other too, but that would take to long.
I have some question though. Are you playing on PC? And could some of those issues be due to lag? Have you reported it to the bug thread? I have reported all of my bugs and problems there, and so have others.
Do you have any idea how hard it is to find and fix bugs?
For all that IG has done and put into this game, the level of attention paid to our little ranting sessions, I am pleased and impressed with IG’s job. Now keep in mind, some of these things we complain about aren’t always a glitch. Some of them are poorly understood features, and yes some are legitimate glitches which are dealt with. Glitch fixes are never as simple as a snap of the fingers, for starters you have to dig through the crap ton of code that makes up the game, then make a corrected sequence of code to put in the corrupted codes space, and that takes time. In addition to the code fixes, KI is not the only game IG is expected to update and maintain. I won’t even pretend to understand just how much time it takes, because I honestly don’t know. The bottom line, brass tax is, fixes take time, and dedicated player to identify problems and make them known to developers, and if you are convinced that you could do better, than go get yourself some kind of graphic design credentials, go work for IG and fix your problem yourself. But if you don’t intend to do that, then your just gunna have to have a little faith that IG is doing their job.
KI does need more polish and bugs are there but if your aim is to have a civil conversation regarding the bugs, blatantly insulting the devs is the wrong way to go about it.
@TheUnsaidLlama I hope you’re listening to everyone, because they’re either right, giving you good advice, or both. Being negative and insulting towards others is never the right answer. Be more constructive and forward with your criticisms, and it will be received better and more openly.
Also, please remember that IG is not some big AAA studio with thousands of people at their beck and call - for their size, they’re actually really good. Who else do you know of their size that can put out new content nearly every month (like they did back in s2) while also being so connected to their own community and fans?
This is exactly what I wanted to say right after reading the first line. There’s a massive disconnect between gamers and developers when it comes to how a game is made. Not everything is as simple as “hey, let (whatever thing) be done”. It takes time to find the root cause, then figure out a fix, then figure out if said fix fucked up something else, then get approval for the fixed version, then roll out a fix. There are also priorities for all tasks, and some things just have lower priority if they’re not stopping you from playing the game at all. It takes a lot of time, especially if your developers are creating new content like IG is.
I urge folks to be a little more calm when talking about these issues, there’s a lot going on behind the scenes that you (probably) know nothing about.
How’s about the debacle that is SFV? Its dreadful netcode that apparently still isn’t exactly stable after around a year? NRS’ awful PC release of MKX? Again, absolutely dire netcode.
The issues that you have listed are actually pretty minor in the grand scheme of things, for the most part KI is playable on a daily basis, already offering more modes and gameplay variety than most of its competitors.
I’ve never had this problem to be honest. What platform do you play it on? if it’s on PC there may be something wrong with the PC since there’s a million things that can go wrong with that. If it’s your XB1 have you tried a hard reset?
Sorry you are having issues. Some of the issues listed are known and have been mentioned long ago, with fixes already in the works.
This thread will be closed as it serves no constructive purpose, but I wanted to let the community share their input before I hit that lock.
