They’re not “robbing the consumer” at all, Killer Instinct’s community has been literally begging for additional side-content since the game’s release. Sure the name definitive is a little misleading but as a fan of the game I’d think we would all agree that new content is a good thing. You’re already getting what most of us paid over $150 on for around $40, whats there to complain about?
Basically you’re telling me that you wish the game was past its development cycle and dead just so you don’t feel like you have to pay for additional content beyond the already exceptional deal you already got on the definitive edition. I’m sure that MK fans would be thrilled to see more DLC for their game, any fan of a game should put the well being of the game ahead of their personal gripes. More content is good man, they’re not ripping you off, you’ve already got the deal of the century. Any additional DLC is icing on the cake.

I think most of would prefer they keep making more content for the game.
I get how some people would feel decieved by the “Definitive” label, but at the end of the day you got a $40 package of 26 characters, 21 stages, a good variety of unlockables and single-player modes, and additional free content (like Ultimates) promised for the future. That doesn’t sound like a rip-off to me by any measure.

That is a false fact. They never said a Gold Pack came with it. All they said is that those who already purchased the DE and have the Gold Gargos gets a gold pack. Nowhere did they say future buyers get it

You can always just play Shadow Lords and unlock both Gargos Skins.
But what do I know?
Developers (IG) futz w/ balance, not pricing.
Publishers (MS) futz w/ price.

1.) Definitive does not mean “the end, next game” any more than GOTY means “this game was the best game of this year by empirical measurements,”
2.) Are you suggesting they called the DE “Killer Instinct: Patch Updates”?
3.) I fail to understand how Kilgore is a S3 character…? S3 only had 8 characters, they’ve been saying that since last March. Why should you get free stuff for buying other stuff? You don’t get Arbiter when you buy S2.

Far as extra content delivered after the Definitive Edition released? The game is still being played, updated, debated and acclaimed even right now. If you believed you were buying DE only on the hope nothing new was coming, that’s your issue and nobody else’s.

I bought KI: Definitive Edition and am ecstatic that even this late in the game’s life they are continuing to update, add new content, and keeping this game fresh and new. I didn’t consider it a I’ll never have to buy anything for this game again as much as holy crap they released a version that has all the DLC SO FAR released PLUS as a special bonus I got both CLASSIC KI games! That is a massive bargain and seems like a great time to finally buy an XBOX1 so I can get in on this game that I’ve been salivating over but reluctant to buy because A. Chiefly I didn’t own an XBOX1 only PS4, lol. B. Sooo much DLC to catch up on. KI:DE packaged it all up conveniently and affordably (got mine NEW for only $40 at Gamestop!). If I have any regrets it is that I had to buy a cheap refurbished XBOX1 to play it so I’m concerned that some of the game crashes I get are an unreliable system and that I’ll come home one day to find all my data lost because the system died.
Oh and FACTS. Because I have DE and downloaded the 2 FREE Gargos Skins that everyone else has to completely 100% Shadow Lords mode just to get and I got instantly I also got Gold Skin Pack #2 for free. Check your Gold Section for #2 and it should say FREE or $0.00 press to download! So um.. not to be rude but learn comprehensive reading skills dude.

Must be a full moon because there’s a whole lot of crazy happening in the forums. The “definitive” edition is at least as “definitive” as “ultimate MvC3” is “ultimate…”
Just to add to the scintillating discussion here, it isn’t just games that do this. Ask me how many versions of Star Wars I own. Original, thx remastered, special edition, blue ray.
If you seriously bought the definitive edition thinking it was a guarantee that no future content would ever be released for the game then I would like you to participate in a very lucrative real estate deal I’m working on for Arizona coastal properties…
