I’ve noticed that the AI on Ultimate Kyle no longer seems to shadow counter, at all!
I’m shocked, because it now seems one-sided, especially when you watch a cpu vs cpu match; one is constantly blocking and the other is always throwing random attacks.

Hopefully the AI gets it back, since it seems dull recently. Would be cool also, if all the items for the characters were unlocked in CPU vs CPU for a preview, plus when you select random, it gives them random ones as well. @developers
Yeah please fix this. As a CPU vs CPU enthusiast this is pretty silly. I mean, watch CPU Hisako vs CPU anyone on Kyle. It’s pretty hilarious: Hisako just keeps spamming rekkas and the other character can’t do anything about it.

yeah the Ai is definently a little wierd on Kyle difficulty. Watched kilgor fight a few people and then realized why he was losing. He never does anything lol.

Few patches ago CPU vs CPU Kyle matches went like this:
-everything got broken almost instantly
-shadow counters were pretty much the only things doing reliable damage
-characters with powerful single hit attacks (any dp, aganos’s rush punch ect) were obviously the best characters
Wasn’t perfect, but it was much better than what we have now lol.

Agreed. It’s always one blocking, one attacking now and no shadow counters at all. I bet it’s easier for people to defeat Kyle now.

The AI seems to be a lot less frightening than I remember it being on higher levels. Like, it never punishes things that are super obvious to punish. I’ve seen/used multiple DP’s used against Killer and Kyle AI and they treated it like I was doing a block string! It doesn’t punish things that should leave me wide open. Yet it always manages to throw me out of the start up of a shadow move if I start it too close.
It’s…weird

I checked out some matches on Killer and it’s the same thing. And like Fwufikins said, CPU’s just aren’t punishing things at the moment.
Please investigate and try to fix this.

Posted this in patch notes too because I’m not sure what threads devs are reading regularly:
My guess is that they messed up AI somehow when they introduced shadow lords mode. I really enjoy watching intense CPU vs CPU fights, but right now they are extremely lame and not enjoyable.
Can any dev comment on this? Is this thing even on your radar? Is it a bug or intentional?

I noticed the AI changed, when people complained about Shadow Lords being too hard; I noticed in the patches that they changed Gargos’s and Omen’s on Shadow Lords to make it easier, but it seems to have affected the CPUs in other modes.
Good idea tbh; I hope it does get fixed, because the AI seems to be dull; one blocking the other AI’s attacks constantly and not shadow countering to get an advantage or anything.
AI matches are still lame and super slow on Kyle. Timeouts happen all the time and they still can’t do shadow counters. I’ll might record a video soon and post it, it’s really sad lol.

That’s a shame. I hope they update it soon.
So take a look at this match:
See how stupid the AI is currently? No shadow counters, bad punishes and slooow matches. Can any dev comment on this please?

@developers Please fix this; it’s really dull the CPU is now, it’s no longer the known ‘Ultimate Kyle’.

Must of been something they messed up on or overlooked while updating the game? an understandable oversite.

I noticed this, somewhere here https://www.ultra-combo.com/3-5-patch-notes-shadow-lords/ at the bottom; this patch, I instantly noticed the AI no longer doing any shadow counters or anything.

Sure, mistakes happen. I’m just wondering did devs even know about this, and more importantly, are they doing something to fix it.
Might post some more hilarious examples later. The Hisako one is really hard to top though.

I hope they fix it next patch, because I’ve stopped playing KI because of this.
