Community Survey POLL NUMBERS 💟

Well said.

Still wasn’t their any option to bedazzle the blackness a little? I don’t know like add smoke or allow the cuts Shago leaves on his opponent mark the screen with fragments of blood stained slashes. That sort of thing?

I’m not graphic major or design specialist so I don’t know how that works. But, was leaving the stage black truly the best option both for astetics and practicality?

Also, I do care about the step by step process, that’s why I’ve been asking for a Killer Instinct book that went through each step and whatnot. MS Plz.

Side note: If you guys would ever be willing to touch up Shagos Ultra, his final blow should be amplified. Sort of just sounds like a medium, meh.

Is it possible to make them as I suggested and more like a 2D MKX brutality? It doesnt match Shagos bench mark of a n Ultimate
but if it comes down to either a new way or no way
how possible would this idea be?

I get that it’s a pain in the ■■■ to make Shago’s Ultimate compatible with each stage, but why the boring, pitch black background? You can’t even tell where Shago’s facing. Could at least be a night sky or something, like you did with Gargos’ intro or like Injustice does with their supers.

I’ve been taking a look at how other games do it.

Marvel 3, for instance, has some magic blue/black effect going on in the background during cinematic level 3s, example:

But I think importantly, they don’t cover up the floor with the effect, which still gives some semblance that you are on the stage you’re on. They just apply this effect to the area above the floor, where there would be problems.

KI’s cinematic level 4 ender effects try to do a green smokey-type effect which doesn’t look very good to me. But I don’t think covering up the background with “stuff” is a bad approach, there just needs to be some reminder of the stage you’re on AND the effect has to not look out of place. Especially for ultimates, which have a screen darkening effect and some windup, so the transition doesn’t just come out of nowhere. For cinematic level 4 enders, you are fighting and then 1 frame later you are transported to a new place and it feels very disconnected.

I’ve always thought that would be the easiest solution - similar to what you did with the Level 4 enders. What’s the down side to this, other than the background always being black for Ultimates? Sounds like it wouldn’t require nearly as much time as the other options you mentioned?

i kinda want the level 4 effects to use the background from the shadow lord stage. the stars and more importantly the stage would pop in for the duration of the effect then leave or fade back to the normal stage

That makes sense, and the workaround you’ve made for Shago is great, but I can’t help but ask with the advent of things such as Aria’s instinct startup and, more importantly, Gargos’s ending animation with the world in the background, I can’t help but ask if perhaps Shago’s ultimate couldn’t be tweaked to make it look a bit more like the boss Shago version, such as having a night sky with a moon behind it, maybe do something similar to the Lvl 4 enders when he’s on the ground with the smoke effect
something to make it more visually appealing than just solid black.

I like the idea, but it doesn’t sound feasible considering it means they would essentially have to have both stages loaded at all times.

not literally the stage but a picture of it. a still overlay instead of the black screen with smokey effects

Sounds like a great summer project to me for season 4. I’ll take a black screen just to see Orchid n a NEW OUTFIT shocking the loser to death in a spectacular Tommy Lee style drum playing baton frenzy.

lol

. It’s also a surprise to see Eagle listed on here as well being a Street Fighter character from the original game. He uses double sticks as his main choice of weapon and hasn’t been included in a Street Fighter game in despite the continued requests. Could this be a new partnership with Microsoft and Capcom?

That’s what I forgot to put on the survey! A rewind option for replays! This needs to happen ASAP.

This is gold

Maybe ultimates/no mercies should take an MK approach and have the stages dimmed when activating those finishers.
